It would be really interesting to have a running thread on what SO peeps are reading. Obviously people can do whatever they want, but here's what I'd like to specifically know:

Title and Author
Amazon link
Why you're reading it

And it would be really cool to have a post-read summary on your impressions of the book.

To wit, I've got two books I'm working through:

The Affluent Society (40th Anniv Edition) by John Kenneth Galbraith
http://www.amazon.com/Affluent-Society-John-Kenneth-Galbraith/dp/0395925002
I've read summaries and critiques of Galbraith's theories but have never taken the time to digest his most famous work. I've got a good friend who is center-left politically and basically said we can't talk about economics or politics until I get through reading.

Allies at War: The Bitter Rivalry Among Churchill, Roosevelt, and De Gaulle
http://www.amazon.com/Allies-War-Rivalry-Churchill-Roosevelt/dp/0786711353
I have developed the theory that De Gaulle was an obnoxious horse's *** who insinuated himself into a position of relative power in order to exert enough influence to manipulate the Big Three into giving in to his demands. Once his sorry *** had been saved, he then spent the next thirty years bitching and moaning and just generally crapping into the hand that fed him. So I'm reading books on the subject.
