View Full Version : Why does everyone think the stadium will be so empty?

This is a pretty big game. I checked on a few tickets for tech in Norman and they were anywhere from 200 to 500 apiece(no I didn't go). Yeah you do have to buy season tickets for this game but 4 people and they are "only" $245 each. Why would we think that OU fans wouldn't buy those tickets up to go support OUr team?

Because were all saving our money to go to the Big12 game in KC and to the National Championship, h*ll I didn't think setting next to a pile of sheep sh*t cost that much.

I heard the Gaylord Family was going to show up and buy the rest of the tickets and then hand them out at the gate to folks with OU gear on on Gameday.

Just a rumor though.

Hope it's true. That would be funny as hell!

Just wondering? I think they also make you pay a donor fee of 400.00 to buy season tix. Screwy anyway all around but thats why they'll always be pokey state.

Exactly. You have to pay the donor fee in addition to the season ticket, and I believe that donor fee is per ticketholder, too. So...let's see...$645 for a season ticket...have to get to Stoolwater...sit outside at night in a cold stadium...versus watching it in HD at home. I love the Sooners, no question, but that's more than I can swing, or would want to. Especially to see them most likely thump the 'boys.

How are the Pokes going to sell their season tix next season without OU coming to town? Methinks their ticket base will drop, not go up like they think

I might be worth it only to see the look on Gumby's face after he sees a Crimson and Cream tornado rifle through his stadium.

Lack of ticket sales. The "Holder way"

They'll do the same thing with Texas tickets.

Tons of em on ebay.

I saw about 50. Most of them are priced way stupid. Someone bid $700.00 for a pair on the 50. Reserve not met.

Looks like they'll be at least 10k empty.

Just found 70 on ebay with very few bids. Some are asking $600 each, $300 each for student tickets. Wow.

They may have sold more season tickets, but they're going to have a hell of a lot of no-shows.

Beware of counterfeit tickets.

If it's possible, Mike Holder overestimated how stupid the average OSU fan is. He thought he would frighten them into buying season tickets to get one game and it didn't work.

I think it's hilarious that with all these strong-arm tactics, *and* the pokes having their best season in years, they *still* couldn't sell out. Being such manipulative turds about trying to lock out Sooner fans from the game is just cheesy & pathetic.

We should raise a stink with the Big 12, and demand that when the hosting school doesn't sell out, extra tickets are turned over for sale to the visiting team, same way as how a visiting school returns its unsold allotment prior to the game.

Does anybody know if their attendance numbers are gate or tickets bought?

Capacity 60,000

Opponent Attendance
Houston 45,001
Missouri State 43,388
Troy 52,463
Texas A&M 51,147
Baylor 50,080
Iowa State 46,718

Pretty sad when your highest attendance is for Troy.
