Not that I think Mack Brown is a big enough **** to do this, but he could leave OU out of his poll this week, and then come back and rank us high the next week when the polls are public.

To show how big of an impact that could have, assume Mack is currently ranking us 5th. We get 21 points toward our rank in the coaches poll. That gets divided by 1525 (the maximum) and then weighted 1/3rd. So taking out 21 points affects our total BCS value by -21/1525/3 = .00459. To put that in perspective, we currently are behind Texas by .0083. Mack could increase his lead on us by over 50% by doing the ****ty thing.

Stoops doesn't have a vote, but Leach does.

discuss.

What if he is ranking us like 10th right now? That would be good right, since it wouldn't matter?

I believe they have a system that checks for things like this. If a coach ranks a team much below a median of what others rank them then they can have their vote dropped. At least I read about this recently.

I would think that if Mac does that he will get it in the end...What goes around comes around...Stoops could do the same thing...

There was an article I saw on Sunday about this because of the Stoops giving up his vote after last season, someone said the ballot has to pass a "sniff test" to be counted.

Does anybody have a link with more info about this type of situation ?

Mack was never a gambler, I don't see him doing it.

He gave it up when some coaches ranked Missouri ahead of us after beating them twice, last year.

How about poking it with a stick? That's a lot of fun.

I guess that all depends on the stick!
