The fiance and I are trying to decide where to move next year. We are lookin to get the heck out of Dallas. She is pulling for Denver because she perceives it to be less expensive than Seattle.

Is there really much difference in the cost of living between the two?

..if we could only do without "housing", we'd be set :)

The 'burbs' in Denver will likely be cheaper than the 'burbs' of Seattle. But what you get for what you pay for is definitely worth a lot.

Seattle= liberal land ranked number two on the list of areas full of nuts flake and fruits. Lots of rain

Denver mucho better.

Cost of living would be a secondary concern to me at this point. Might want to look at the economic situation thats going on in those two places.

Seattle in the summer is probably the most beautiful major city in the U.S.

Too bad it only lasts about 3 months.

you can't live anywhere near the city in seattle without crippling housing prices. that being said, seattle is a much better city than denver in every other area as far as i'm concerned. denver is highly overrated, although they do have good weather.

Denver has an NBA team. That's something to consider! ;)

It's expensive to live in Denver. But like anywhere else, you can manage an affordable liestyle here.

But seriously, if you're looking at the total package, Denver kicks Seattle's ***.

Unless you hate, great weather, pro sports of all variety, great food and entertainment. Then I would say, move to Seattle.

You forgot throngs of ski bunnies in bikinis. (too cold for that in seattle in the spring)

it's getting very expensive in this area. but, like 8time says, it's how you do it and the quality of life is pretty high, IMO. but, i'm the kind of person who likes public transportation and the lightrail and don't mind a little "urban" experience where i lived (in Denver, Capital Hill area which 8 times thinks is the hood). but even Capital Hill is starting to price out buyers like me.

i don't know much about the burbs, though or anything south of U of Denver.

There are about 100 places that I would move before Seattle, Denver is at the top of our list.

I also know many who have been moving out of there because it has changed so much since many of them moved there, most have said that Portland is becoming what Seattle once was. In some of their opinions the "families" there have neutered what Seattle once was.

I heard no Styrofoam in Seattle. Thats reason enough for me to go to Denver.
