Sportsbooks 101: The sportsbooks want equal action so they can collect the vig, or the juice, that magical 10% of winners money. You lay $11 to win $10, on that scale. When you win, you only get 90% back. Meaning if you bet $110 you're only getting $100 back with your original $110. When you lose, you lose it all.

The spread moves toward the team who is getting more money. This action is to induce people to wager on the other side. OU opened -7.5. Tons of OSU money came in dropping it to -7 in hopes to induce OU action to even out the money being bet. Vegas and Offshore Books do not like money on just one side of the game, because if OSU covers then they lose big. They want OU backers to come in and drop some cash.

I have never bet on OU in anything...There are more Cons than Pros...If OU loses, then as a fan, you lose twice as bad...Yah, OU is a safe bet and most of the time they will cover, but it is not worth the down side...
