Pics. I'm curing the cooking surface as we speak. It ain't pretty, and even a paintjob isn't gonna make my beads look like anything but shiite.

But it works. Like a frickin' champ. The burners are amazing. I can delicately cook a chicken breast or melt aluminum in the manmade blue fires o' hell. Whatcha think, fellas?

good job, i have one the son built in high school. It's a wood burner, I haven't got it all figured out yet. I may try some ribs to go along with the turkey.

I guess I need to do some research.

This is excellent, TF. Might want to straighten up that stove-pipe. ;-)

when i was a kid, my dad made a curved lid to a wagon style grill that we used to have. He used rivets, sheetmetal, and tin snips. I'm pretty sure I am not capable of that.

I don't know about hand tin snips(they are a bitch)but if you can get access to a air tin snip or nibbler they can make the work more bearable, and a air rivet gun makes the work so so so soooooo much easier.
The air nibbler doesn't distort the sheet metal as much as the snips, a much cleaner cut for more precise work....but it is slower to use.

Edit to add:a die grinder in the right hands...and slow steady use can make some nice cuts, however the edges can be very rough so finish the edges off with a medium to light file.
