Bradford is climbing the passing charts at OU and just passed Cale Gundy to move into THIRD place on the career charts.

White (27-4)
627-990 63.3% 7992 yards 81 TDs/24 Ints

Heupel (20-5)
654-1025 63.8 % 7456 yards 53 TDs /31 Ints

Bradford ((21-4)
475-690 68.8% 6831 yards 78 TDs/14 Ints

Sam already has the school record for passing yards in a game(468),has tied the school record for TD passes in a game (5 TD passes) SIX times. He has the top 2 seasons in OU history for accuracy,is currently the CAREER leader in accuracy.Sam has 2 (400+) yard games this year(ties, season, career mark).

The Pride of Putnam City North also has (11) career 300 yard games,9 of them coming this year,he needs 3 more to tie Heupel's career mark of 14.Those NINE (300+) games breaks Heupel's old mark of eight in a season.Bradford needs only 141 yards to reset the single season mark for passing yards. He has 42 TD passes this season breaking Jason White's mark of 40.His 78 career TD passes trails White's carrer mark by 3.

When it comes to career passing yards,Sam needs 676 yards to pass Heupel,1161 to knock Jason off the top.The last one seems unlikely....this year.

In the total offense category Sam needs 22 yards to set he single season mark,998 to set the career mark.If this seems like a contradiction considering the passing totals for White and Heupel, remember this : they both had negative career rushing yards while Sam is +49.

To sum up Sam is either the record holder in passing at OU or will soon will be in virtually ALL categories.Oddly the two areas he trails in at this point signifigantly are ttempts and completitions.Bradford has 475 completions compared to 627 for White,654 for Heupel. In attempts it is Heupel 1025,White 990,Bradford 690.

In TD passes Sam has thrown 78 TDs in 690 attempts, that is 1TD every 8.8 attempts. White threw 81 TDs in 990 attempts,an average of a TD every 12.2 attempts;Heupel 53 TDs in 1025 attempts.a ratio of 1 TD every 19.3 passes.

Lest you think young Sam is careless with the ball, check this out:Heupel threw an interception once every 31.9 passes,White 1 in 41.3,Bradford 1 int for every 49 passes.

Pretty impressive for a guy ranked as the 20th or so best passing QB in the country coming out of high school, AND trust me Sam will be back for his junior season.

BTW what was that Romar fella ranked coming out of high school? :D

Mack has campaign stops schedule in NY, LA, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta. He will be talking to partisan crowds right up until election night....

Oh, wait, this is football, right ?

Sam is obviously a slacker and can't get the job done. And yes, I am a member of the media, that's why i have him 14th on my Heisman list. Stats be damned, full steam ahead. :D

Man, I'd like to find a cached copy of that Hornfans.com thread titled "I don't know, I think Bradford kind of sucks." That was hilarity to watch as Sam proceeded to break all of McCoy's freshman QB records.

Of course, once the writing was on the wall it went down the HF.com memory hole.

Have you noticed Sam's new trick of using his legs ? He ran for that TD against aTm (not a sneak) and took off a couple of times against TT. Can you imagine how deflating that must be to the defense? They finally have the right coverage called and they finally get enough pressure so Sam can't wait all day. Then he takes off up the middle, gets the 1st down and hook slides so they can't even lay a finger on him. Before they can even say "drats", Sam is lining the team up again for the next play while they gasp for breath. People don't think Sam can run, but to play hoops as well as he did, he can run.

We should ask Horn fans which sucky QB will replace Bradford if he chooses to leave for the NFL. Maybe they can rank them in terms of suckiness.

:DOh yeah Sam CAN run but the coaches don't want him to make a habit of it.OU wants their QBs to be good passers and decision makers not runners.Run/pass QBs get hit too much. That is directly from a conversation I had with Merv Johnson.

And I totally agree - I don't want Sam running like McCoy. But it's critical for QBs to take those easy yards when the field opens up like that. It's often much safer than holding the ball in the pocket too long and getting clobbered from weird directions. Inexperienced QBs often run too quickly or hold the ball too long. I just see this as Sam getting even better as he matures.

I never thought Bradford would be this good he is super smooth and definitely improved arm strength this year. - at the beginning of the season I said more than 40 TD's and 4K yards and he would win the heisman. I think he is having a Hiesman Type season for sure.... 42 TD's to Mccoy's 30 and one less interception.

This road game at Puke St is the true testiment and could clinch it for him.... another Bronz Statue could crop up at Memorial Stadium...

He only needs about 4,000 more yards and 40 more touchdowns this season to clinch it for the media. Then its his for sure. Assuming he can somehow convince the NCAA to wipe out 3 or 4 of his interceptions.

Did I forget to mention the NCAA record for TD passes for frosh-soph year combined that Sam holds? The old record was 55 by Rex Grossman in his fr,so. years at UF.I would say 78 doesn't just break it,it obliterates the record.

Just goes to show the truth about recruit rankings being for commercial purposes. At the end of the day, a late blooming 3 star is worth a heckuva lot more than a 5 star prima dona. Some kids can make the step from playing on Friday nights to Saturday afternoons or beyond, others cannot.

Give me the likes of an Iggy, a Q, a SAM, a Josh, and a Clayton and let's tee it up.

Of course, it's nice to have an AD, a Gerald, a Tommie, and a Jamaal to go along with them.

BTW what was that Romar fella ranked coming out of high school? :DI thought I would update the Sam file.

Sam has reset the career TD pass mark with 82(81 by J,White).Bradford has reset his school record for TD passes in a season with 46,single season passing mark 4,080 yds((previous 3850 by Heupel).4,138 yds total offense is also a new season record.Sam also notched his 12th career 300+ yard passing game last night,10th of the season which reset his own school mark of 9.Looks like Heisman numbers to me.

Up dating Bradford here is the White-Bradford stats as they now stand:

White: 627-990 63.3% 7,922 yds 81TDs/24 ints(27-4)

Bradford: 539-783 68.8 7,584 yds 84 TDs/14 ints(23-4)

The career passing yards mark, which I thought was out of reach this season is now only 338 yards away.Last nit was Sam's 11th 300 yard game of the year breaking the old mark of 10 which he set last week,it also gives him 13 career 300+ yard games bringing him within 1 of Heupel's record.

Another stat that is not strictly Sam's but for whichSam is abig part of is OU becming the FIRST TEAM IN 116 years to score 700 points in a season.the other two:Harvard in 1887,Minnesota in 1902.Sam's 4463 passing yards rests the season mark which had set last week.

OU_HSV Sam has tied the TD pass record (5)for a single game SIX times so far.

Before I forget I heard during the broadcast last night that the D-1 record for career passing TDs is 131,Sam is only 48 back of breaking that NCAA mark and he is only a SOPHMORE.The guy is AMAZING.

It's out of reach this year. There is no chance in Hell that Sam will pass for 338 yards against Florida.

i don't think so. Florida's rushing defense is solid, but they are suceptiable to the pass. I say he throws for a meager 345 against them :)
