I scanned thru SoonerStats and I think I found that the 85,646 crowd last night is the largest home crowd since the stadium has been enlarged.

I still dont know how we can sell out each week. Than set a new record. I know this has been discussed before. I did not see any extra chairs setup in the rest rooms.

But on a side note ALL 85,646 fans were loud :D

I have almost no voice today. Awesome atmosphere. I'll remember the crowd rocking before the half to jump around until the day I die. That's about as good as it gets being a Sooner.

i'm not sure exactly where the variability is

do they only count people with tickets?

do they sell extra student tickets?

If I'm not mistaken the last time the record attendance happened was when tech came in 2 years ago. I was there for that one too and they announced the record then. If it wasn't that time, maybe it was the Mizzou or miami game last year.

I was at that game, too. It was pretty crazy that night, not like last night's game looked.

I think the call it a sellout if it's close. I mean if capacity is 85,600 and 85,000 show thats still 99.3% full. So while it may not be a record crowed they call it a sellout.

I've always thought it was a sellout if they sold all the tickets, the attendance didn't have much to do with it. But I could be wrong.

The Attendance record is based on how many people actually show up. Tickets that get sold to "Vendors" count toward the "Sellout" total, but not toward the Attendance total. So if everyone shows up for their seats, which they did, then you can have higher attendance.
