The Sooners moved up from the No. 5 spot, passing No. 4 Texas, the only team to beat the Sooners this season, and No. 3 Florida. Only 11 point separate the Sooners and Gators in the coaches' voting.

If they want to argue that our loss was on a neutral field then fine. But I would argue we are a much better team than Texas right now. It took a few games to recover from the loss of Reynolds but I think our young LB'ers are much better now than they were in the UT game.

Lou Holtz said it best after the game last night. OU is a different team now, like Florida. Our defense was young and they are getting better by the week. Texas lost. We are the hot team right now, not Texas. Our offense is the best offense in the country, possibly EVER. And we are the last team in the country that Texas wants to play again. All Texas wants to do is talk about their win against us, not their loss to TT, or the fact that they barely beat OSU at home, or the fact that we played a tougher schedule.

It wasn't my scenario, but I concur... if things were to play out such that OU advances to the CCG and wins, and a two-loss Florida team beat Alabama...then it would be OU and TX once again. TX over Alabama, USC, and PSU in that scenario as their only loss would have been to a top-10 squad on the road and they would have defeated what would be then the #1-ranked Sooners much earlier in the season.
