A while back, one of our happy campers posted something as to WTF "standing" really means in the context of the right to bring and maintain a lawsuit to stop gubmint from doing something or other that person doesn't like.

I encountered this this morning and it explains the notion of "standing" pretty well and quite succinctly:

To have standing, a complainant must have a dog in the hunt; if complainant has no such dog, then complainant cannot object to things occurring in the hunt.

Hmmm. It's 'complainant' not 'complaintant'.

TWO lessons in that for me, Homey. Thanks!

I've always liked the Phrase "a dog in the hunt", or "That dog will/won't hunt".

Example:

"OU4Life says he's not that hairy. That dog won't hunt!"

I'd like to know what standing means in relation to traffic laws. I've seen signs that say, "NO STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING". WTH?
