So while awaiting the delivery of my Compendium of Dahl's Adult Short stories, I thought I would start a thread discussing what your favorite Dahl work was. I'm going to go with Witches and James and the Giant Peach as my top two with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory + Great Glass Elevator following closely.

weird coincidence--i'm in my screenplay class and we just discussed two of his short stories that were featured on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents". "Man from the South" and "Lamb to the Slaughter"

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that they were at the very least, mildly ****ed up stories.

I liked that one a lot.

I think my favorite is The Witches, though.

Never read the book, but loved the movie. Maybe should read more.

Oh, YOU'RE tired?!?!

How bout telling Obama and McCain you're tired of the election! "Oh, I know you guys are on the road 24/7 and away from your families and have no free time whatsoever as you're speaking 20 hours per day and not sleeping, but I'm just soooooo tired of this whole campaign. The television coverage makes my eyes kind of sore."

:P ok, so that comparison is way way off, but seriously, I am going to start angry-smiley-ing the next people that comment on the avatar.

But the parents of legendary Norwegian Explorer and Dahl namesake, Roald Admunson were.
