Our next coach...Bud Wilkinson. We will use a hologram image. Of course, on away games, our techs will need to be at the other teams stadium on Monday to get the projectors all set up.

If Stoops goes to Youngstown State and the hologram Wilkinson thing does not pan out...would Leach come to Norman?

That's retarded. Oh well...very K-State-ish.

In 1995, if Barry was not a D-Cowboy, would we have taken him back?

Was Bear Bryant's corpse already booked?

Maybe if they waited, they could of lured Joe Pa to the "little apple" at season's end!

Heh...maybe aTm should just rehire RC now and save some face.

Good, I'm all for tradition and I like this move for kstate. Add another top coach for the Big 12 and let's not forget Stoops learned tremendously under Snyder. Tons of respect as a coach but this conference has open up since he left.

what's going to happen to his image when he gets pasted for the next 3 years? I think he did a remarkable job, but they're not the same team, and the North isn't the same since he left.

This means he's coming to Norman next year, correct?

KState should've hired a Sooner... It's the best move texas ever made.

No link and no "official" story....Gottfried just reported it on College Football Final saying he had BIG news and that it is a done deal that Snyder is going back to KSU.

This move really makes little sense. Snyder's records his last two years was 4-7 and 5-6 and he is almost 70. It kind of helped when he had perhaps the best staffs ever assembled with both Stoops brothers, Jim Levitt, Mangino, and Bret Bielema at Wisconsin.

This will be along the lines of Joe Gibbs' second tenure with the Redskins and Johnny Majors' second stint with the Pitt Panthers. This will be a sequel that should have never been made.

They also ensured no one will ever take this school's job seriously ever again. Hell, they'll channel Snyder long after he has passed on to coach games... They may out aggie, lassie aggie... Frickin' sunflower aggies...

The problem with bringing back the old coach like that means that their will be another Ron Prince after Snyder leaves again, meaning another coach that will be a sacrificial lamb because he is not the old coach. It seems when you make that kinda transition, you go through it twiced instead of once.

They shortened their coaching search to "Successful former K-State coaches". Surely they interviewed all of him. ;)

I don't follow your line of reasoning.. Anyway, ANYONE and i mean A N Y O N E who doesn't admire the job Snyder did at kstate doesn't know a damn thing about the game.. Will he win again ? Who knows ? I don't but neither do you or anyone else for that matter.. I hope he doesn't because I used to hate when we had to play his team..

He did a great job.
Then an average job.
Then a crappy job.
Then he retired.
He definitely stopped on the wrong side of the Bell Curve. I don't see that him being older is going to help things.

I don't think bringing Switzer back would have done anybody any favors. Once again, I think it sets the program back when you do that.

And I think Switzer was a great coach. I just don't think its healthy in the bigger picture

Well, You may be right but i don't think kstate bringing back Snyder{Who was a GREAT coach and noone can argue that } guarantees they will continue to suck.. I respect you {not just because your an ole EOSC guy but because I consider you to be one of the better posters on this board} but i still say they might have made the best decision considering who they had to choose from.. We can agree to disagree on this one..:D

Yeah its all good..Snyder is/was a good coach..couple of things to remember though was K-State became successful when things weren't going good at Missouri, osu, OU, Kansas, and Texas...He got a lot of recruits(Oklahoma guys especially) during that time due to the downward spiral most of the schools he recruited against were in.

I'll say this. He may take them to a lower tier bowl and have a little success, but not enough success for how far this will set them back when they go looking for a coach again in a few years.

I see your point though. He probably was their best choice, but it doesn't seem they did too much of a seach

TheHumanAlphabet

Between waiting for Snyder to die on the sideline and Chuck Longs sucky play calling as an O-Coord at Purple kitties U, they guarantee complete suckage for some time to come. I wonder if Long will be named the coach in waiting???

Does that say anything to Vulnerables people who are currently living somewhere around his sphincter at the moment? They'd rather have some old dude who's got velcro on his shoes coaching them than hire Simple Dave to give it a go. Meh, different year, same morons.
