Saw it yesterday, and Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever. Movie's good, but he rocks. AND he's delish. ;)

I wonder if all Bond movies are going to have names like Castlevania games now.

Actually, Quantum Of Solace is the name of a Fleming short story. The plot of the film has nothing to do with the short, though.

Oh, and the movie f*cking rocks. I saw it Friday night and went back to see it again this afternoon. For the first time in four decades, it feels like they're getting Bond "right" again.

Carolyn and I saw it Friday night in the balcony seating of the Warren...a few thoughts:
1. The theme song SUCKED!
2. Why in the **** did they put the gunbarrel sequence at the end?
3. The cinematography was a bit dizzying during the chase/fight scenes...sensory overload.
4. Overall, I loved the movie.

I agree on the theme song, but there has been worse before. The opening credits design was alright, though. I keep waiting for a light bulb to go on and for someone at Eon to get Portishead for a Bond theme.

I guess they decided not to open with the gunbarrel because of how "seamless" they wanted the end of Casino Royale and the opening of Quantum... to be. Hopefully they move it back to the beginning starting with the next one. Also, "James Bond Will Return" should go at the beginning of the closing credits, not the very end.

You can chalk the dizzy action scenes to a director that was directing big set pieces for the first time. That's a cop-out they all use.

Didn't like the editing. Too much like the bourne movies. then i read on IMDB that the second unit director came from the bourne movies.

Writing and acting was good, though.

I hope they can keep that writing team intact for the next flick, since we appear to be entering a true series of films. Which makes me giddy.

That makes sense. Hard to imagine someone just pulling that title out of their *** for a new movie.

I liked the theme song. Jack White + Alicia Keys is a good combo. I thought the action was great but I felt that the plot was lacking. Exciting movie though.

I was a little surprised that they went with that. License To Kill was originally called License Revoked (after the novel it was based on), but they changed it 'cause they didn't think Americans would know what "revoked" meant. :D

I fully expect it to become a new slang term, e.g. "Gawd, Dad, give me a quantum of solace!"

I'd like to give Strawberry Fields a quantum of solace. Rawr.

good flick.

I was disappointed we didn't get to see what was underneath the female British agent's trenchcoat.:)

I think there was just a naked chick under there.

Heh.

M is evil. She was worried Bond was still ****ed in the head, so she sent naked redhead hottie past him. If he HADN'T ****ed her silly, M would have been worried.

4. Overall, I loved the movie.

1. I thought the theme song was OK at worst.
2. Agree that I'd like to see the gunbarrel sequence up front. That's a cliche worth keeping.
3. Agree that some action scenes were a bit too fast. They should slow some things down, and reduce some of the action clutter so we can savor 007's new personal brutality. :)
4. Indeed. This Bond kicks ash. And I think his flicks are just going to get better. I love the serial quality; it makes me look forward to the next one.

The song is named Another Way to Die, which it seemed should have been the title of the movie. When I think about previous Bond movie theme songs, I thought they were all title tracks, songs with the same name as the movie. However, a little research showed this was not the case.

Both Daniel Craig Bond films, that one by Carly Simon Nobody Does It Better was from The Spy Who Loved Me, All Time High was from Octo***** and the original Dr. No featured the James Bond Theme.

All in all, some of my favorite movie music comes from the JB films.

i thought the Jack White opener was kinda cool.

overall, i was a little disappointed but i liked it. i also didn't think it was over when it was over. however, the new Bond series is clearly addicted to scaffolding fight scenes. a little campy at times...which i know is part of it. wasn't long on plot. i like the actor who played the Greene guy, he's always cast as the amoral Euro (see: Munich--which is not a great film).
