I did not watch every play, but I saw most passes short over the middle.

Where are the deep passes like sam's?

I actually thought that Kansas had a chance, until the QB got all rattled.

Colty-boy doesn't have the arm for the deep throw, yet I heard one of the talking heads say today he had plenty of arm strength for the NFL...yeah right, so do I then.

Too bad Brent Venables couldn't recognize the same thing a few weeks ago. ;)

Hopefully someone as lowly as A&M will notice.

Wind was a big factor in that game yesterday. Any pass over 20 feet high was going any way the wind wanted, thus all the dump offs and short passes.

Yes, Colt has the arm strength to throw it deeper, and that is what frustrates me the most. It doesn't seem to be in our play scheme. The coaches may not have confidence in O-line, I dunno. But I do agree with the post. I thought Kansas would beat us, because Tech exposed the way to defend our short passing game. VERY surprised our D Kansas to 7 points.
On a lighter note, Kansas found out this year that it is a lot harder to go 11-1, when you have to play the "big boys" in the South!

He did have a 36 yeard TD pass and only about 10 YAC.

Can anybody find me Colts "completion percentage" for passes over 10 yards. And number of attempts. ?

The horns will probably break the scoring-against-A&M-at-home record just recently set by Oklahoma.

It's in Austin

It's in Austin

In that case, 77-0 is in danger of being A&M's [I]second[I] worse loss.

Yeah, I thought wind was a huge factor in that game as well.

And as for Todd Reesing, to say that he had happy feet back there is an understatement...

I actually have Colt's stats from the OSU game....after we played them, I thought about it and it didn't seem like he threw hardly any passes down the field. So several wks back, I couldn't watch the UT-OSU game live, so I taped it....while watching, I charted Colt's passes (yes a true geek). I have our game with UT recorded, but I still haven't watched it. I have the Tech game, I will chart it... :)

I didn't tape the Kansas game...kind of stopped thinking about it.

Anyway, here it is....

He was 7 for 7 on throws behind the line of scrimmage
17-21 on throws less than 10 yds
14-16 for passes of 10 to 20
0-1 for passes over 20 yds, this pass was INT.

He 38 for 45 during the OSU game....

We don't throw down field very often but Colt throws a very good deep ball. And the wind was a huge factor in the game yesterday. 30mph is a big deal. You could tell the difference from when we were going into the wind and not. And he threw one deep ball to Brandon Collins that was perfect.
