For me I think I learned that just like American justice,American politics are for sale IF you spend enough money.

and the media is a liberal mecca and the "great society" is turning into the gimme gimme gimme society and that the Baby Boomers entire existance was is and will be all bout them. I am actually embarrassed to be in the last year of that group.

What they will learn from history is that they havn't.

I don't know exactly what I learned...but the dems definitely learned from the last two Bush elections.

They made damn sure they had double the amount of the Electorate and didn't concentrate on the popular vote.

It would seem the fear mongering emails that barraged my INBOX for over a year didn't affect the Electorate other than the fact that they felt the dems had a better message for our Country.

Should the Dems fail to deliver over the next 4 years...the GOP should be a lock in the next election. That is...if they don't implode over who was to blame for this last loss.

Today, Shawn Hannity sounded like a confused rich guy who has been wandering aimlessly in the streets without food for a week. It's really sad that he can't accept defeat.

Tough to bitch too much about the other guy spending more than you do when $150k of your budget goes to buying someone clothes.

Especially when that someone looked good in a gunny sack and didn't need them.

Seriously, that's the first "bought the election" complaint I've heard-which is fitting, seeing how McCain's campaign squandered their resources in some pretty baffling ways-like making a play for Pennsylvania and Iowa. WTF was THAT?

You know who isn't getting much credit in all this? Howard Dean. His 50 state strategy really did help. McCain just couldn't play defense against Ohio and Florida the way W and Rove did.

that the movie Red Dawn is really important to some people as a politics.

that most people don't know how to define capitalism or socialism or Marxism.

that most people who think "other people" are brainwashed by the msm are those themselves people made of talking points all aflame with freedom.

The man is awesome, stuffed with win and drizzled in crazy. The DLC despised him, but between the midterms and the 4th, the results speak for themselves. I just wish the man was as good an orator as organizer, Obama essentially lifted his fundraising structure.

Fun facts about Dean's time as a governor: he paid off the state debt, ran a balanced budget for 11 years, lowered taxes twice, provided universal healthcare for children and pregnant women, and got rid of concealed carry permits, because he thought them to be intrusive and unnecessary (he received the endorsement of the NRA). I would vote for the man in a heartbeat.

I've learned supporters of the losing party often try to make themselves feel better by attacking the winners, rather than analyzing and discussing the events of the time period the losing party was in office, and the reasons which led to its subsequent defeat in 2008. I've also learned conduct of this sort, manifested by anger, bitterness, victim status, blaming, childishness, and narrowmindedness, is really a reflection of one's maturity level, much like how some of us behave after OU loses a football game. On the other hand, I've learned some supporters of the losing party can behave in a very fair, gracious, analytical and mature manner after the election.

And to answer the question posed in this thread...

I've learned that there are just as many morons on the fringes of the right as there are on the left.

I've learned that after 18 years, it's STILL the economy, stupid.

I've learned that if the Republican Party is going to make a comeback, they'll need to rediscover their roots and come to the realization that social issues such as gay marriage, stem cell research, etc. still pale in comparison to the economy and national security.

I'm not saying we need to kick the social evangelical conservatives out. They just need to realize where in the pecking order their pet issues lie.

Pretty much....idiots are idiots no matter what color they wear......and the status quo (the two party/no choice) system is fine with most.
