Anyone that has XM have any thoughts on the programming following the merger with Sirius? The new lineup began today, and to tell you the truth, it looks like us XM fans got the short end of the stick, especially the music channels. My beloved '70s channel has totally been butchered, with DJ's and bumpers playing even when a song is starting and they even took out the clips from sitcoms and movies that they would play in-between songs on the old XM. On the '80s channel, they removed the weekly classic America's Top 40 with Casey Kasem broadcasts and are playing straight music. They even had the nerve to take off Fred, Ethel and Lucy (no joke, that's what the channels were called) in favor of the similar channels Sirius has. Basically, Sirius took over the XM end of programming.

At least I still have my sports channels, my MLB games and my college games. And with the merger, I can get the NFL games although I've yet to pay the extra 5 bucks a month.

The merger means that in the same place I can get The Met Opera Radio (Sirius) and Big XII football (XM) in the same place. That's really all I care about.

I usually only listen to Alt Nation, ESPN, and Nascar radio on Sirius so I haven't noticed the change yet. I'll have to check out the station lineup.

I activated my 6-month free trial of Sirius back in April and the very few times I was able to pick up a signal it was pretty damn awesome.

Stupid laws of physics and LOS.

I know I had some of my Sirius channels change on me today, still not sure if I like it.

XM has Big 12? I know they have UT on there but I get OU, Tech, A&M, KU, KSU, NU, ISU, MU, CU on Sirius.

Hopefully they'll start the G. Gordon Liddy show at its regular time instead of the weekend, chopped up version Sirius does now.

I noticed that too...as long as they keep Rick Dees on the 90s channel and Lithium is very similar to Lucy, I will be happy. If that one changes, I will not be a happy camper!

The reason that happened is that, while it was a merger, it was a merger where Sirius took over XM.

AND the main reason I got Sirius over XM was the Big 12 coverage at the time, wasn't offered on XM. Xm had SEC and some other crap.

I'm on the road this week, but looking at XMOnline it looks like The Cafe (45) has been replaced by The Spectrum, other than that my normal ones look about the same.

I do see that there is a Led Zepplin Channel (39), which may have already been there, and I just didn't know it.

After further review, there's a couple of new channels I want to check out.

I got Sirius because of 1) OU 2) NFL and 3) NHL. The NHL left, which made me :( and . Now, with the merger, the NHL is back, which makes me :D.

The only music station I listen to with any regularity is BackSpin. the news and sports channels seem to be pretty much the same. I'm driving to Houston this weekend, so I'll play with it some more

The reason that happened is that, while it was a merger, it was a merger where Sirius took over XM.That's weird. I have been decommissioning some Sirius antenna sites for XM because of the existing XM tower's overlapping with Sirius:confused:.
