but if you've ever been a G.I., regardless of service, you prolly know what SOS is. My dear wife made me some for supper tonight. And I ate very bite. I kinda like that stuff. Very occasionally.

Thanks, Homey.

Not for your service ('cause I did that in another thread) but for eating that stuff so I don't have to.

Indigestion is not free!

The service has changed a bit. The Army figured out that diet plays a large role in Morale. Have KBR offer Mongolian BBQ followed up with triple chocolate german cheesecake with softserve vanilla on top and it makes driving through Tikrit a little bit better.

Ole Vet,

Just head to LCs near downtown if it's still open and grab some good Ole P-town food. It's a small world.

holy ****! they have high speed internet that far out? Good to know. I always wonder if the corner bar (on the curve about 1 mile before the dam) stayed open. Very cold beer.

One thing that always stood out for me was Thanksgiving. It seemed over my 20, I always was either at sea or pulling duty on that day.
The cooks always really worked really hard on that meal every year, whether in the mess hall or deployed in the Persian Gulf. Traditional and enormous, I still go to Tinker's Club every few years on T-day and enjoy the atmosphere and great food.
