...but a school just offered me 20 iTunes downloads if I apply to their college of law.

This is a well-known institution of higher learning not in the Big 12 that is ranked in the top 10 in the BCS standings right now.

They actually have a decent reputation according to US News and Word Reports.

Yeah, I say kinda cheesy as well. On the bright side, they also waived my application fee and I was sort of thinking about applying there anyhow. It meets a bunch of my criteria.

Plus, I could still wear crimson and cream on gamedays.

How much would an application fee be these days?

Would you be inclined to buy R.E.M songs with your card?

Anywhere from $25-$150. Don't know what it is there.

I would not. Though it makes me crimson in the face to admit it, I already have more than enough R.E.M. in my library to tide me over.

Waive the fee and 20 free downloads? What a deal! Doesn't take a lawyer to know that's a win. :P

(1) It's cheesy.
(2) It apparently works. (ie, you're talking about it instead of just tossing it)

What is your criteria besides not located near a large city? (Which I still don't get.) Distraction?

Never said I wouldn't go to a school near a big city, I don't want to go to a school in a big city. A lot of it has to do with housing cost. If there's a school in a big city with reasonable housing costs, I'd be down with that. Tulsa, Nashville, Des Moines, Tucson, Tempe-wouldn't mind going to a school in those (or similar) towns. New York, Chicago, LA, Miami-there'd have to be some pretty significant money involved.

Criteria:

Academic Reputation
Cost of Living
Available Scholarships/Cost of Tuition.
Quality of Life.
