It appears that some of you guys, if not all, kinda despise LSU. Is that because Les Miles is now their coach or could it be.......well, you know.........? Just wonderin'.:)

Well, I was there and, yes, it's sad but it's true.
I live around it every day so I guess I tend to let it go in one ear and out the other but I saw first hand their actions after that game. Totally uncalled for. I can only imagine.......what if they would have lost?

Their fans are a bunch of illiterate inbread alcoholics...After they beat us in the Sugar bowl, their gracious fans decided to share their booze with us, but instead of handing it to us, they threw full bottles and full cans...I for one got hit more than once on the walk back to my car...I cold cocked on of those toothless bastards as hard as I can, and he fell face first into the sidewalk...That was the only thing I enjoyed about that evening...

I wonder if part of their ill behavior came from the fact that they were so starved for attention and the MNC - that they went out of their collective minds.

I compare this to the USC beatdown we took, and SC fan was much more civil - maybe I mistook civility for pity. I dunno.

Either way - We hate who we lose to.

That pretty much sums it up.

Where in south LA?

The people we experienced in NOLA during the game were mainly swamp trash who never set foot on the LSU campus let alone ever could have actually matriculated there as a student. Similar to some of the meth trash we see in Norman.

Most of the people who were spitting on OU fans after the game lost their homes when St. Bernard parish flooded during Katrina. Most of them are living in FEMA trailers now. I doubt they have cable or satellite so they aren't aware of Miles, Saban or the current BCS race.

Some of my best friends are from LA and are LSU grads (go figure). I only moved down there in 2003...lived there for 3 years. Some of the best years of my life! I'm home now however.

My point is, don't stereotype the fans. The one's most of us here would ever associate with are great people who love their team. The others are just WT who would be an embarrasment to any team. Even in the SEC.

Dude I went to school at UGA for 2.5 years... I have seen a lot worse. LSU's being by far the worse of the lot that I have seen, Auburn, South Carolina, Taco Tech, Colorado, osu, all worse than UGA by a lot.

For some reason there was some real hate going on between UGA/LSU for a while there. probably because they went back and forth for the SEC title for a few years. That may be what you are seeing.

I think this goes back to the new money-old money principal. When you are new money you gotta let everyone know about it.

That's probably because they were actual LSU fans and not the New Orleans trash that most Sooner fans saw. Having gone to both that Sugar Bowl game and several LSU games in Baton Rouge, it's night and day.

No, not at all. I shouldn't have used contempt. Maybe indifference is more like it for me. I would never want anybody to get hurt or anything. I, too, am a college football fan. I just could care less about other teams/coaches unless we are involved somehow. But I do like watching games that don't involve us, I just give no love and remain indifferent. But there are teams/coaches/fans that I despise for one reason or another.

15 interceptions have been thrown by LSU quarterbacks this year. 6 LSU interceptions have been returned for touchdowns. IN addition to those six, 3 have been returned inside LSU's 5 yard line, all of which resulted in touchdowns. That's 63 points that LSU's opponents have scored without the defense stepping a meaningful foot on the field.

In the UGA loss, 2 interceptions were returned for touchdowns. What was the margin of the game???? 14.

In the alabama loss, 1 interception was returned for a touchdown and another was returned inside the 5. What was the margin of the game? 6.

I'd think it is SAFE to say that we would be a much different team with a different quarterback. I'd say a Top 5 team. :D

I've got no problem with LSU fan. I share their hatred of Nick Saban. And the description that most of you put on their "fanbase" can be put on pretty much every non attending fanbase of <insert primary sports university in state>.

P.S. Be glad that Ohio State "fan" couldn't afford to go to the Title Game area last year, would have been more than the 2 stabbings that happened between LSU and Bama "fans" this year.

I only know 1 LSU fan personally. He's an ok guy sometimes, but is completely delusional when it comes to LSU and SEC football. He's the kind of guy that will argue with you about anything just for the sake of being a bunghole. In fact, he's actually on the record as loving the BCS just because it p***es people off.

Knowing him, combined with a good portion of the LSU faithful that I experienced while visiting NO, as well as others on the 'net (hey, we've all got our internet idiots) gives me the impression that most people from that area are antagonistic punks who are only happy when other people are as miserable as they are...but that's just speaking from experience.

Before meeting them, my attitude about LSU fans was ambivalent. Sure, they were going to be our rivals in a NC game, but they weren't Texans so for the most part I expected to have a good time in a great party location.

We (there were about 12 of us in our group) were so excited about the prospect of a New Orleans vacation/title game opportunity that we decided to get there a week and a half before the game just to enjoy ourselves and send off the season in a spectacular fashion on Bourbon St. We actually flew out to New Orleans from the Orange Bowl in 2000 just to continue the party, so I don't think our expectations were too great coming in.

Of course what we hadn't taken into the equation was the LSU fans. It turned out to be a huge mistake. Anyone wearing the tiniest bit of crimson drew hecklers at practically every streetcorner. I swear to god, if I never hear the word bait within 2 syllables of the word tiger for the rest of my life, I would die a happy old woman. Several of us wound up spending a lot of time camped out in the hotel bar taking refuge with other Sooner fans. At night, you just simply couldn't walk anywhere without a bunch of drunken LSU fans harassing you to the point where you almost got nervous. You just knew the next crowd would be missing the fans that talked the belligerent ones out of throwing punches instead of beer cups your way.

The fact that Les Miles is now the coach there just makes sense in my mind. As far as I care, the coach may as well be representative of his fanbase - which is to say in my mind LSU is synonymous with azzhattery, from the fans to the coach, it's all the same. Sure there may be 1 or 2 in there who I'm passing over unfairly due to all the *********gery surrounding them, but I know if by some stroke of chaos and I happened to grow up near LSU and wound up being a fan, I'd be flat out embarrassed and wouldn't bother with defending the indefensible.

The fact that we lost the game really has very little to do with it. Sure, it just adds on to a negative experience, but when you get treated bad by people, it tends to leave a mark on you.

Personally, Kansas State fans are at the top of my sh!tlist. I had never been to an OU game until 2000, which was my freshman year in the Pride. Some genius with the Big 12 decided to seat both bands side-by-side at the CCG until 2003. They also put KSU fans in the upper-deck behind us instead of sitting us with the OU crowd. I spent 3 hours getting pelted by food, beer, and other unidentified substances. One of my buddies next to me got hit in the head with a full beer can. I got all sorts of crap thrown at me while waiting on the sidelines to perform Pregame. Did we win? Yes. But, it still ranks as probably my worst experience evar at a college football game.

My opinion of KSU fans was confirmed again at the 2003 Big 12 CCG when some KSU idiot decided to come and try to pick a fight with 300+ members of the Pride. The only time I had a non-negative experience with KSU fans was when I went to Manhattan for a game in 2004, and that was neutral. Nothing particularly good or bad happened.

When you're the everyday "Joe Fan" at a game, you tend to miss out on the worst bunches of the opposing fans that you would encounter if you there in an official capacity with the school. I came across several cool LSU fans at the Sugar Bowl. In fact, most of the ones I met were awesome. The people I met from their band were awesome. However, the actions of the bad fans that I met were too much for me to handle and pretty much ruined the experience.

To be honest, the worst fans I've come across aren't even Texas fans. Pretty much, my worst 3 are:
#1: Kansas State
#2: Oklahoma State (folks in the band were cool, but the Pride was treated like sh!t by the rest of their fans every time we went there, especially when they won in 2002)
#3: Colorado and USC

My best 3:
#1: Nebraska (awesome experience there in 2001 even though we lost)
#2: Alabama
#3: Can't think of a clear-cut #3.

Hey n00b, nice first post. Apparently you weren't down there for more than 10 minutes where their fans threatened us, threw stuff at us and greatly outnumbered us. If you would have opened your eyes while you were down there, you would have seen that. I have been to tons of games and I was never in fear as much as I was during that trip. When you have to hold up in your hotel for a marjority of the trip or be sure not to support your school for fear of being attacked, you have a right to hate them. Losing the game has NOTHING to do with it. I have been to many games where we have lost. Let's face it, you aren't going to win every game. But when your fans are complete asses, there you have. Also, I live in Houston, where a bunch of the Katrina victims came as well. If you don't know what happened there, look it up as well. By the way, welcome again n00b!

Living in KS most of my life, I can personally vouch for the fact that KSU fans are generally just a bunch of low-life ***holes. Out of the hordes of MildKitten fans that slithered into site once KSU had their first winning season in oh, say, 60 years, there have been a total, TOTAL, of maybe 2 that I've found that I can tolerate. Even the LSU fan that I know considers them a bunch of jerks....

Completely agree with everyone that mentioned the Sugarbowl. I was there also and totally agree wtih the outrageous and sometimes scary treatment we (sooner fans) were treated too while there. And it wasn't just the college kids.. Some adults in their 30s and 40's were just as bad. I never seen a worse bunch of scumbag fanbase in my life.

The loss in '04 has nothing to do with my hatred of LSU. It's mostly this SEC circle jerk and the lack of perspective on the history of the game. OU is the blue-bloods of college football. The SEC, save Bama and Tenn is new money. Show some ****in' respect. We'll be here long after leslie has dragged you back to mediocrity (Oh, he already has) and then you can look back fondly on your back door 2 loss "championship".

I hate the stinky smelly Radisson in NO and the whiny Katrina folks who didn't do a thing to help themselves and all the LSU fans who my fellow Sooners reported about.

Anyone one who would live below sea level in hurricane territory can't be all that bright.

I do like the food from lousyanna but that's about it.

Ain't to fond of many other teams but I'm sure those threads will come up eventually.

I can't believe this still going on with some of OUr fan base! From the post on here from Boomer Sooner sax and the like it, a lot of OUr fans are trashy, ruthless and vulgar! My brother and I went to that game with our OU jerseys on all weekend, we went all over that city and had absolutely no problems the entire weekend. Yes, their fan base had the art of intimidation down to a tee against their opponent, but that is all we saw. Sure their were probably some stupid ones that went too far with cussing and throwing beer around, but we have OUr fair share of those here also. It's just amazing that it has been 5 years since that loss in the N/C game and their are fans that are still mad about it. I'll give you a perfect example. Two of our buddies drove into New Orleans the night before the game, we partied all night and had a great time. We didn't see them again till we got back to OKC, one of my buddies was just so pissed off that we lost the game that he had nothing good to say at all about going down there and even went so far as to say he had been mugged of a thousand dollars by some LSU fans. Come to find out from the guy that was with him, my buddy got really drunk on Bourbon St. then went to Harrah's casino and lost the thousand bucks gambling. He said his wife would kill him so to this day he still says he got robbed by LSU thugs. So, to the people like Boomer Sooner sax and my buddy, stop the bull and get over the loss in the N/C game because the fact was New Orleans was a really nice city to go to for the N/C game.

1. There fans are rowdy and get waaaayyyyy too drunk.
2. After their Sugar Bowl victory, a small portion of them were throwing beer bottles filled with urine, screaming for Sooners to get the **** out of there, etc. Over the top by a good margin.
3. SEC cockiness.
4. Les Miles.
5. The loss less than an hour away from their home field.
6. The "we kicked your ***" and "it was a rout" bull****. 7 points and we dropped a pass in the end zone.

There. That's pretty much it. I actually had a lot of fun with their fans. But some were the worst I've ever seen. Colorado fans suck too though.

My brother and I were in the middle of it, we had a great time met good people and the city was a great place to party before the game, no problems here. Charla, 1890 miles to norman, Burbon St. Sooner and you sax, what make OUr fans that are like you and many more in the Sooner Nation different than LSU's is that their fans said it to our face, on the street before and after the game, we wait till we get on the Sooner boards and say worse things than they ever said behind their backs. Now, who is the classier bunch? The purpose of this thread is no different than what you guys that were "hold up in your hotel rooms" were to scared to face on the streets at that game.

Terrible analogy, considering both of your examples have no more college eligibility left. I won't defend losing to Troy by 4 touchdowns, but I will say that everything that I have seen and heard from this team indicates that our quarterback situation is the cause of most if not all of our problems this year.

Good analogy. See, the last sentence about reality is kinda the most important one. The entire point, which you seem to have missed, is that any random scenario COULD change things but reality is reality.

This just adds to my stance of being very unimpressed with the SEC this year...including Alabama. I mean Bama damn near lost to these clowns who were letting Troy smoke their asses for like 3 quarters.

No offense Sabanball...but I honestly think there are at least 6 or so Big 12 teams that would beat Bama if they played eachother.
I think Florida is hands down the best SEC team and the whole country will see that on Dec. 6th.

However, UF is the best team in the country and will show that.

Well you'd kind of expect LSU to be the deeper team and to have played more solid defense throughout the whole game...I thought the SEC was a defensive powerhouse conference??

Florida is damn good, and a very solid team right now...but I'm not buying the best team in the country stuff just yet, not knowing they lost to Ole Miss (early in the year or not)....I think OU, Tech or texass could take them. But we'll have to wait and see how it all plays out

I have a feeling most of you haven't experienced a game in Baton Rouge. I'm thinking what was experienced in New Orleans so long ago was the true New Orleaneans who are known by all others in the state as being a bunch of jerks. As intimidating as some fans can be if you were on the LSU campus it would have been much different.

I enjoy college football and have much respect for OU ever since I was a kid...tradition rich and overall good programs to boot. Don't judge all of us from the internet stories and a few bad apples. Most of us do have teeth, live in houses and don't have grandmothers who will cuss you so badly a sailor would blush.

I know I'll get the f you ******* get off our board but I truly enjoy reasonable discussions on other boards where we have common opponents or face each other on occasion. Congrats on the season so far and I'll be rooting for you against TT this weekend.

Hey there and welcome. I think most of us were pretty indifferent to LSU before the Sugar Bowl and our only personal interaction was at that game. I was there and I can tell you that the stuff posted on here is true. That being said, I am in total agreement about New Orleans people. I am sure Baton Rouge is probably different, but most of us have such a bad taste in our mouths that we would never want to experience a game in Baton Rouge.
