This would be a very nice thing to do. I suspect your family would enjoy it as much as the trainee would. You can help make sure no young AF man or woman has to eat Thanksgiving dinner alone in the chow hall.

If you live in the San Antonio area and have an extra seat or two for Thanksgiving dinner, the Air Force wants you to consider having guests over.
For the 33rd year, San Antonio-area families can brighten the holidays for Air Force basic trainees through Operation Homecooking.
Last year, more than 1,400 local families hosted more than 2,400 recruits. This year, about 4,000 trainees are eligible to participate.
Families within a 30-mile radius of Lackland Air Force Base may invite two trainees by calling (210) 671-5453, (210) 671-5454 or (210) 671-3701 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trainees can also be invited via the Operation Homecooking Web site.
Hosts must pick up trainees at the Basic Military Training Reception Center, Bldg. 7246, between 7 and 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.
