Whether you like the new President-elect or not, and whether your financial situation will be either improved or paralyzed by his economic policies, at least this will be kind of a catchy word to say for the next 4 to 8 years.

Obamanomics.

Kind of rolls right off the tongue. :)

The next four years are going to be LONG. I am already sick of hearing about that s.o.b. The gloating from ignorant people who haven't a f*ing clue about anything this fraud stands for makes me sick.

Fixed for use by Democrats.

Fixed for use by Democrats.

Did you do that by yourself, or cut and paste it from some Republican's post some time during the last 8 years? ;)

Time is money. If my money is going to be taken away and given to others, then I will choose to spend my time doing something I like doing rather than making money for my own use (eg. college, a car, a house, a retirement "LOL"). Bottom up economics will not work because somewhere there has to be a service or commodity given up in lieu of money. Money without either of those is just paper.

It is funny that you mention this - was this not the same policy comparison used in high school Macroeconomics in comparing the economic policies of Hoover to FDR?

Many (liberal???) teachers will say that Hoover's "Trickle Down" theories did not work where helping businesses would "trickle down" to help others. Businesses would create surpluses through added money, causing prices to fall, which causes demand to rise, causing businesses to need more workers, the economy succeeds... of course, surpluses already existed, so they wouldn't create more surplus, and thus, no progress.

It was said that FDR's "pump priming" (???) policies of helping working class would in turn help business did, because working classes would spend money given to them, helping to turn a slumping economy around. Of course, giving broke people money does not mean they will spend it right away instead of save it, an effect we can still see to this day from depression-era people now retired and in assisted living or nursing homes, etc.

As such, NEITHER worked. It was WW2 that took the U.S. out of the depression because suddenly there was a market for goods and services once the war started and everybody needed stuff to shoot others in defense or attack.

However, I think it can be agreed that FDR's model was a foundation for continued economic prosperity that might not of necessarily been in place with Hoover's "trickle down" theory (don't you feel dirty saying that?). We will never know.
