Cheese and crackers. That's it.

Sour cream in chili? That reminds me of people who put ranch dressing on pizza. Ick.

Doesn't Sour Cream make your chili chilly?

mdklatt
11/5/2008, 06:59 PM
The only reason to put sour cream in is to cut the heat. And if you need to cut the heat, maybe you shouldn't be eating chili. P****.

Sooner_Havok
11/5/2008, 07:01 PM
Sour Cream is only acceptable if you serve said chili over a heaping helping of Fritos. Otherwise, NO!

True. But sometimes well a little sour cream just tastes good. especially if you are drunk.

You were more than just drunk. And that wasn't sour cream.

A bed of Frito's covered with chili and cheddar cheese baked to perfection and hold the sour cream. Mmm, tomorrows dinner has just been decided.

Never. And for that matter, sour cream at all....never!

But my wife does like sour cream on her chili, I call her strange every time she throws a spoonful on her chili.

Chili + cheddar cheese + cornbread + beans.

You make the beans separately and put the chili on top of them. Then the cheese. Eat with the cornbread.

A little sour cream is good. Plus, it gives you an excuse to use the word 'dollop'...

GottaHavePride
11/6/2008, 01:20 AM
I prefer the word "trollop".

I've never tried sour cream with regular chili, but I make this black bean, pork and salsa concoction, and sour cream is just awesome with that.

I went without, but wished I had some.

After careful consideration, chili must now feature sour cream, along with onions, grated cheese, and pepper sauce.

You, sir, are a horrible, horrible person.

I blame Taco Bell for the whole sour cream on everything phenomena. It doesn't go on chili. Does it taste good? Probably, but once you smother it in sour cream, all you're eating is Taco Bell.

Also, good chili doesn't need any additional spices (salt/pepper/pepper sauce/etc.). Some cheese, onions, jalapenos yes.

Yep, all the spices you need are already in it, if it's good.
