We'd have been a heckuva lot better off vs the Whorns if we weren't so blitz-happy, or at least used the blitz selectively when it's disguised well, coached well, and executed well.
It sure makes a difference against Big 12 offenses when you can rush 4 and they stay in their lanes with their heads-up and don't get pushed all over the field. Outside of our blitzs just flat not working anymore, the biggest problem that I see with both our defense and our KO coverage is that we hang-on tackle and just flat don't put our helmet between the opposing ball carrier's/receiver's numbers and deliver a blow and a lot of times don't even wrap up and just slide off. Any way you slice it, that's coaching.
