Nah, that is the last day of the current Mayan calender. It is a non-repeating calender system, so they had to have some end date.

If the spanish hadn't killed them with smallpox, they probably would have created another calender by now.

at least I won't be advised to fill my bathtub with drinking water and buy MRE's at Army/Navy stores. If the world ends, that means, by definition, no prior planning is required. :D
