It occurred to me today that tournament bass fishing is the ultimate redneck sport. It combines fishing, horsepower, and drinking. The only way it could be better is if you got to shoot the fish.

You got too much sun.

Don't forget the weigh-in chicks and Hooters sponsorships!

Sure enough on that downwind leg when the wind died. That's actually when we started talking about bass fishing. :D

I've never actually seen it on TV, just experienced the guys zooming across the lake with their dual 500 HP outboards attached to a 13' jonboat. Hooter sponsorships, you say. It might be even more ultimate than I thought. I need to study this some more.

Oh yeah, there's also camouflage involved in many cases. I rest my case.

Noodling. Nothing more redneck than pullin a big ol' fish outta the water with your arms.

Dynamite fishing.

I'm not a redneck, but I have been bow fishing before. It's pretty fun.

But you'd never find me noodling, that sh*t's crazy

I have been trying to find out who I talk to about the OU Bass team. They had a spot in the Oklahoma Daily last semester and they really compete on a big level. I just want a sweet OU bass fishing shirt!

Bass fishermen watch Monday night football, drink beer, drive pickup trucks and prefer noisy women with big breasts.

Trout fishermen watch MacNeil-Lehrer, drink white wine, drive foreign cars with passenger-side air bags and hardly think about women at all.
This last characteristic may have something to do with the fact that trout fishermen spend most of the time immersed up to the thighs in ice-cold water."

There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot.

When someone asks me about fishing I usually say: I fish for a living... with gill nets and electric equipment.

My father and I went to Canada a while back to do some Bear hunting and some fishing. We had shore lunch everyday we were there and I have never had a more delicious meal since! They fixed walleyes in cast iron skillets that looked like they were 1000 years old and my God was it tasty!

See, there is the difference betwixt me and the tourney fisher guy. He has to weigh'em, I has to measure them for the good'ol state of OK game warden. Cause I'm "fixin to" eat me some. :D
