I know they are doing a Mad Men parody, and the leaked clip looked awesome. I've got pretty high hopes for this years edition.

The Transformers Bit wasn't that great.

The Mad Men bit delievered. Anytime you get a joke about Prince doing John Wayne's wife, and Abe Lincoln hitting on Homer, it's gold.

The Great Pumpkin bit was good if a little uneven.

Yeah, 2 out of 3 were pretty good. Transformers bit could've been better. I love Charlie Brown, so I got a kick out of the spoof, even if they did leak the Skinner part of it.

To this day my favorite bit they ever did was the one where Homer reads The Raven

Pretty solid episode. I loved the part about the true religion - a mix of voodoo and methodist!

The Raven bit was awesome.

If I remember correctly, wasn't James Earl Jones the narrator?

It seemed a little desperate to me. I mean, that show has been sinking due to tired ideas ("LOL HOM3R SO STOOP!D LOL" is a recurring one) and while I loved the idea of them parodying the Great Pumpkin and Peanuts in general, it stuck a big "Meh" to me :(

I love the show, but when you go back and watch the first seasons, you wonder what happened over the years that they are no longer instant classics, but more cheap gags?

The Simpson's Writers: Clearly voting for Obama.

Heh.

"Six votes for McCain"

"Nooooo! I only meant one of those votes for McCain!"

The Rip Taylor bit in the Mad Men segment had me rolling.
