If we win those games, I'd say its pretty likely. Of course if Fla beats Bama in the SEC title game, they'll likely move back ahead of us.

I don't think Bama will be undefeated in that game. I find it difficult to believe that a 1 loss FLA Conf. Champ. get's in ahead of a 1 loss Conference champion OU. When the BCS numbers come out, it should be interesting to see. I don't think the comp. are likeing Fla, like some people.

You're correct - out #4 rating was tenuous since we don't control the conference outcome. It will be very interesting to see what happens if both the SEC and big12 winners have 1 loss. I think the nod should go to the big12 on SOS this year, but there may be a few SEC bigots out there

I just don't see the weight of the sec. There are four teams from the big 12 in the top ten.

I think a bigger question might be about who voted texas #1 after a loss? That person needs to have their vote investigated.

FLORIDA LOST TO AN UNRANKED TEAM, UN ****ING RANKED.

USC LOST TO AN UNRANKED TEAM, UN ****ING RANKED.

Well, we really shouldn't be ahead of Texas.

You're right. USC should be ranked behind Oregon State and Florida behind Ole Miss.

I don't vote in the polls, so save your outrage for someone else. There's only one poll a year that matters, and this ain't it.

Florida has better wins than we do right now, its that simple.

Eh, I see your point, but I think that is up to opinion. The SEC is proving to be down this year. Auburn and Tennessee are perennial powers that are not just bad, but real bad. Vandy, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Miss. State...yawn. Heck, LSU has been beaten soundly a few times and the same can be said for Georgia. Bama being up 34-0 at half in Athens and then Florida spanking them the way they did proves Georgia just never really had it.

That leaves Bama and Florida as the two only real contenders. And I just don't think you give Florida as well as USC a pass for the unthinkable losses. Not when you have teams like OU and Texas that have some quality wins as well (OU over TCU, Cincy, Kansas, Nebraska...Texas over OU, Missouri and OSU).

Bottom line, we really need Bama to lose at LSU this weekend in the worst way...or it is going to be hard to imagine Bama not in the title game if they run the table or Florida in the game if they beat an unbeaten Bama team.

If not, so be it...and just give us an OU-Texas Fiesta Bowl...that is the only thing that could make a lack of appearance in the title game seem cool!

OU is only 25 points behind Florida in the poll. It isn't the rank it is the points that are the main component in the BCS standings. We are in very good shape.

I agree with what you're saying, but I'm just basing my opinion on real-world results at this point in the season. Florida has signature wins over LSU and Georgia, our signature win is over TCU. Florida has beaten the best two teams they've plated, we lost to the best team we played.

I'm in complete agreement that the SEC is down this year, however, at this point in the season we just don't have any real impressive signature victories.

Rock Hard Corn Frog

TT and OSU in Stillwater would qualify as signature wins and it will boost the ratings in the computers as well. Again the problems are far less what happens if we win out and more a case of simply winning out.

You don't seem to understand that who you beat is more important than who you lose to. Losing to the greatest team ever wouldn't necessarily make you the second best team ever.

I do think Texas should be ranked ahead of us.

As far as Florida, Texas should be ranked before them, 100% Zero debate. YAYAYA Florida beat Georgia!!!! Okay?? Texas beat 3 top teams a in row! Oklahoma's only loss was to that 1 loss Texas team, who lost on the road to a top 7 team.

Florida lost to an unranked team at home, end of story. Their wins are not as impressive as Texas wins. People should just admit that people are on the SEC nutts. Anybody who thinks Florida should be ranked ahead of Texas does not know very much about football, and should go join a SEC team.

As far as Florida being ranked above Oklahoma, now that is very debatable. Yes Florida beat the mighty Georgia, but didn't that Georgia team get hammered at home? Again Florida lost to Ole miss at home. Oklahoma lost to a team who beat 3 top 10 teams in a row. And lost in the last seconds to a number 7 team on the road.

But wait.......... Since Florida is in the SEC and lost a game at home to an unranked team, they are excused. Complete bull ****

It's November 2nd. If we win out I am sure other crazy stuff will happen between now and then to help us. It ain't like today's BCS is going to be the final BCS standings...

35 days will see a lot of crazy stuff between now and then...

True...but I guess TCU just doesn't have the respect because they are ranked 11th and LSU/Georgia are 14th and 15th.

Florida's remaining games until FSU are a joke...I bet "The Citadel" really helps their SOS. Wins over a hopefully unbeaten Texas Tech and a respectable OSU will vault our SOS...Florida can't really earn any bonus points until they play in the SEC title game. Sure hope it is against a Bama team with a loss to LSU.

Bottom line, if it ends up that way, OU will have better wins and a not as bad loss and in a better conference. Florida may get the nod over us, but based on those key three factors they shouldn't.

It can't help having Howard consistently voting us so low every week. It can matter when you consider Florida is ranked .005 ahead of us in points. It's practically tied.

Go Michigan State vs PSU and KU vs ut.
