...in honor of Brack's likely election, soon to be followed by attempts to enact what he will term "sensible gun laws," go buy a new firearm.

I'm accepting suggestions on what to get...

Why get a handgun? And a revolver at that? If you are getting a gun for home protection, get a shotgun. If you're getting one for hunting, get a bolt action rifle. If you're getting one for a tyranical government, get an assault rifle.

Shotgun: Remington 870
Hunting rifle: .30-06 or .270
Handgun: 1911 model .45 ACP
Assault rifle: AK-47 or AR-15

Already have those bases covered:
Shotgun: I have three, one of which is an 870 Wingmaster
Hunting Rifle: Tikka T3 in .270
Handgun: Glock 23 and S&W 6906
Assault Rile: Mini-14 Ranch Rifle

...assorted others as well, this new one would just be another addition. :D

Anything new I get in the coming months will be on "the list"-- high cap magazine type rifles. It's gonna be a real problem getting them away from me after I've bought them legally.

CB,

My advice...don't believe the hype.
Every month for the past 2 years the gun shop guys have been predicting bans and skyrocketing prices.

I agree with SB68 though, hi-cap is the way to go.

I am lovin' the mini-30.

Soon on my list is a Ruger Mark II,III,etc type fun plinker pistol.

Iff'n I buy a new gun I'll be sure to post pics. :D

I don't have any guns and have been considering a shotgun and handgun lately. I have looked at them on the past and just have never "pulled the trigger" before.

I've bought several .223's and even a few .308's (you never know) lately.
I've got plenty of 9's and 12 gauges.

The real problem i'm having is buying ac/dc tickets. WTF? $180 a ticket? I need 4 of these if anyone can hook a brother up for a decent price.

Great choice, but be careful what mags you buy for it. I like pmags and NHMTG's. They are the very best.

Pfft, like gun salesmen would take advantage of gun-owners fears to jack up prices and drive sales volume. That's just crazy talk.

BTW, after Heller, it's going to be a lot harder to push gun control legislation through, so I don't think there's too much to be worried about. That being said, don't be surprised if the NRA drains its legal fund over the next few years

There's a gun store here in Houston that I buy most all my weapons from. They have been moving guns, especially pistols and assault rifles like hot cakes in the last 6-weeks. I picked up my CHL 3-weeks ago and the wife will do hers in 2-weeks. They are running extra staff everyday.

I've been on a bit of a buying spree as of late as I am also concerned about Barry and the 2nd ammendment. Last week it was a Sig 556 HOLO and a glock 27. Over the weekend I ordered 10,000 rounds of .40 S&W, 9MM, .357 Mag., .243 and 5.6 NATO over the web. I'm going to go pick up a Khar P9 this week for the wife to pack and call it a day for "store bought" weapons.

Will get my MP-5 in Dec. Talk about a sweet gun.

If Barry gets blanked I'll have been able to acquire, in addition to my existing arsenal, all these things with wife urging me on. Barack's been barry, barry good to me.

Buying a bunch of non-hunting guns is kind of like buying a new Corvette ZR-1. They're cool but what are you going to do with them legally? They'll never live up to their advertised potential.

A friend of mine has one, as well as his Class III license.

Every spring, I take a group of students and we go out and shoot with him. You can empty a 30 round clip in 2 seconds . . .

I've shot up a bunch of water bottles with them. :) Srsly though, I have them only for their potential, just as the founding fathers intended.
