I used to like PSU but they're fans have become really annoying of late.

Need your help with some solid ammunition to shut these guys up.

41 conference titles vs 2 doesn't cut it as they say they were independent for a long time before joining the Big 10, so they couldn't really win Conf. Titles.

7 Natl. Championships vs. 2 doesn't cut it since they were robbed of 3 when they went undefeated. Believe the seasons that they didn't get the title were 1994, '68, and '69.

I've got the Butkus and Heisman comparisons down but need more to shut these guys up.

Longest consecutive winning streak.
Most weeks ranked #1.
What else? I've got some more stuff off wikipedia but need all the other assistance I can get.

Help!

I think you shouldnt be ghey and accept their that doestn cut it arguments... 7 vs. 2... um ya.

The best though would be when you say we are 2-0 vs. them straight up and especially when you say: 25-10. look it up (http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/big12/oklahoma/yearly_results.php?year=1985).

I would go with, Where the hell has PSU been the last few years, than end it with "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while" followed by they remind me of osu (okie state). especially the fans

They could've played Nebraska in 94, but chose to go to the Rose Bowl instead. So you can blame them for helping to set up the BCS.

Living in Pa I have learned that you cant you use logic and reason with Penn St. fans because they all believe the Big 10 is the toughest confrence therefore their team is the best. The best one I use is "Yeah well all I can tell you is your almighty Penn St. has never beaten my overrated sooners, despite failing twice."

Tell them about 30,000 plus points.

We had a great thread going at the Fark board about Joe Pa.

this would be one of the easiest debates to close early. penn state started sucking once they joined the big ten, we destroyed them in the '86 orange bowl, and they have two national titles and we have 7. argument over, no need to continue.

they have had 3 undefeated season without winning a national title, but so have we. That arguement doesn't hold water.

It's not that I accept it. When you're outnumbered 3 v 1, it feels like you're getting slammed by Bill O'Reilly while on his show. Facts don't apply to them.

Q. "The Big 10 is the toughest conference, the Big 12 doesn't play defense."
A. "Scoreboard."

Q. "Hey, thereds, where do you want to go for lunch?"
A. "Scoreboard."

Q. "There's a fire! Where is the extinguisher?"
A. "Scoreboard."

OU 14.. PSU 0 (12/31/72).
OU 25.. PSU 10 (1/1/86).

I think those were the only two times that we've played them.

Penn State for many years tried to be Notre Dame II, the independent willing to play anyone, anywhere, anytime. Thing is the reality wasn't as big as the hype. The teams they scheduled in football never impressed the AP voters hence, those undefeated seasons didn't count as much as other team's 10-1 or 11-1. To solve the problem they joined the Big 10, which strangely did not change the name of the conference despite having 11 members. On an aside, conference officials still have not revealed which of the 10 original schools is no longer "big". Anyway, Penn State fans are correct when pointing out their schedule is harder but harder than what? It is harder than what it used to be when they annually played schools like Temple and Rutgers.

I hope some of this helps in your discussions with the PSU fans.

Some of the images might be gone by now (this is an older, but classic thread), but here is a link. (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19553&highlight=joepa)

It was so popular it drew Penn State fans over to SF.com because the Nittany Lions were doing so poorly then :D
