It seems he is complaining about football coaches being concerned about football; I guess he doesnt understand that a scholarship to play football is worth thousands of dollars, and in order to have it, you actually have to play football. When i was in college i chose family over sports, and i didn't get angry because the track coach was disappointed that I didn't honor my scholarship.

I don't think he sounded angry or that he was complaining...in fact, I think he went out of his way in the interview (at least that part of the interview the writer committed to paper) to say he didn't blame OU and that he simply had other things that he had to honor....give him a break man! I wish the best for him.
