I think that like the term "Jewish," the word "Arab" can refer to heritage as well as religion.

Thus, I think that it is quite likely that with an African father he has some lineage that would fit the Middle Eastern religious roots that may or may not be viewed as favorable to some Americans.

That being said, I don't think he's a "practicing" Arab or whatever. That sounds so ignorant. Arab ain't a religion... but anyway, he's American. He was born in Hawaii, he lives in Illinois, he's lived here for more than 40 years.

Not all Arabs are Muslims.
Most definitely not all Muslims are Arab.
Obama is not an Arab.
Obama is not a Muslim.

The only one of these statements that is even debatable is the last one. I think you're a conspiracy nut if you even argue it but whatever. But if you're going to argue this at least use the correct terminology.
