View Full Version : Where is Todd Blackledge going to eat?

The Maestro
10/29/2008, 10:15 AM
I assume being the ESPN game that it is Mike Patrick and Todd Blackledge. Works for me...great team.

If you watch ESPN games, you know Blackledge does a piece where he goes somewhere with local flavor and eats and tells the world about how great it is in that town.

That means he eats somewhere in Norman. Personally, I would go to The Mont and have some queso and a Sooner Swirl, but I bet he ends up eating BBQ with Jim Ross.

Thoughts?

NormanPride
10/29/2008, 10:18 AM
Most likely Jim Ross as you said. But maybe he goes to the Fat Sandwich company or O'Connell's? Maybe Louie's if he can get in. ;)

Ooooh...Othello's Lasagna ain't a bad choice...or the cheese bread with white and red sauce at Victoria's.

Officially hungry now...

O'Connell's would seem to be the most likely place

Fazoli's is closed, and he might as well eat out of a Dumpster if he's thinking about Fat Sandwich. That place blows.

My bet would be J.R.'s, since he's a big OU supporter, and it's a BBQ place. Van's Pig Stand would be pretty cool. While O'Connell's is a campus and gameday institution, the food there is pretty generic for the type of segment he always does.

NormanPride
10/29/2008, 11:10 AM
Yeah, Fat Sandwich may suck, but it's interesting in concept. Maybe Hideaway? That would be sad, since it started in Stillwater.

Not that it is the best place in town.....but what about Coach's?? It is owned bya former OU great, etc,etc....... The wife, kids and I go there every Sunday before we pull the RV home.

Again, not saying it is the best but is a good "OU" place.

***EDIT**** the Coach's on Main Street......the one at Bricktown seems to suck for some reason (at least the timewe went there).

Yesterday I was hungry. I had gone over to see my Mom before I went to work. When I left there I only had 30 minutes to find a place to eat. So...I saw this place that the Wife and I wanted to see if it was any good.

The Rice Bowl. It's across from Sam's Club on Sheridan Road in Tulsa.

The stomach / gastrointestinal cramps and belching I had from it was awful.

I finally got to sleep last night after taking a Pepcid Complete.

Tell Todd to STAY THE HELL AWAY from the Rice Bowl in Tulsa.

OK genius, give me a suggestion. Toto's is actually owned by a neat old Italian guy, former soccer player. Granted, it's not Lidia's, which we love whenever we're in KC, or Maggiano's, which we really enjoyed in Dallas the night before the Sooners laid a t*rd in the Cotton Bowl, or some of the great Italian joints we've enjoyed on The Hill in St. Louis, but at least it's cheap and close to the stadium.

Nowhere in Norman. Last year we went there and it smelled like gasoline in there. The sauce was horrible, then we went to Othello's and had ****ty service mixed with average food.

Resaturants in Norman have really gone downhill since the old days when most were local. Now they're all chain and near 35.
No more Denco's, Interurban, Hoops etc...

Othello's was a cool place to hang out in the 90's but the food is not anything special, IMO. I like Toto's because it's open on Christmas...but, the pizza is about the only legit thing there.
