I just went to http://firebrianbritt.com today and there is apparently a new letter from current upperclassmen saying how they aren't happy with the way Britt runs things. It's not just disgruntled alums after all, it seems. What do you former/current Pride guys think of this development?

I have noticed they've worked 'OK Oklahoma' back in a lot more than last year.

See, I like that better than some of the crap they play. Why are they playing the Mortal Kombat theme, or crazy train?

I got my hands on a "Pride of Oklahoma '73" 8-track a few years back, thats what the pride should be playing! The pride is a collegiate band, sound more like it damn it! Half time shows are one thing, for them go wild, but during the game and the pre-game... Stick to the OU stuff k

I'm pissed Britt won't let OUr kids do Thriller at halftime this weekend. That was the biggest half-time crowd pleaser they've played in ten years, and it is Hallowe'en weekend dammit.

I'm pissed they haven't done Batman again. You have to admit, seeing the batman logo on the field was bad ***!

That show was partially my idea. :) It was the last time a student-led committee was allowed to come up with a show. You're welcome.

All I'm saying is this:

The upperclassmen in that band have never had any director other than Brian Britt. So now the complaints aren't just coming from old farts that think Gene Thrailkill was better.

I can understand not doing Thriller - doing something like that takes a crapload of rehearsal time, and if that show wasn't on the schedule this year, pulling out at the last minute would be a guaranteed cluster****. Even for Gene Thrailkill and Roland Barrett.

This weekend I will be attending my first game in at least 5 years. As a former Pride member under Coach, I am looking forward to seeing the band. It will break my heart if things have dropped off as much as I keep hearing.

I wanted to join the Pride when I got to OU, but I didn't figure I could cut it. I got asked to leave Mustang High band for being "A typical smart *** drummer." and hadn't played in two years. I miss drum line :(
