Comes from none other than Al Qaeda (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/26/opinion/26kristof.html?em).

Come on, guys. This is just as lame as the last election when the Bushies tried to say that Osame Bin Ladin was rooting for John Kerry to win.

Al Qaeda hates ALL OF US. Republican and Democrat and Independent. They don't want McCain any more than they want Obama. They just want all of us to die.

You all (and me included) bitched like crazy last election when some doofuses started similar threads regarding Kerry, but now you think it's okay to do it?

This is VERY Karl Rove of y'all to start this thread.

Like I said last week when someone pointed out that only two organizations have ever bombed the Pentagon:

Now both candidates can claim endorsements from one of them.

Except I didn't. I condemned it when the neo-cons did it last election. I'm condemning it when you guys are trying it.

Endorsements-schmorshments. They're terrorists who hate all of us and I hope they all die.

Vaevictis
10/27/2008, 01:29 PM
... and this is exactly the reason why when folks were saying "Well, Al-Qaeda supports this candidate, you shouldn't vote for him," I responded with:

Why the hell are you worrying about which candidate your enemy prefers? Worry about which candidate you prefer.

Just another reason I voted early for Bob Barr. I couldn't figure out which way Al Qaeda was trying to steer me.

I dont think anyone is taking this as far as the neo-cons took it...

This story came out on the 23rd and it just now ended up here.

And at least I am not taking it that seriously. Its not surprising that they would endorse McCain.

LosAngelesSooner

Still, stooping to that level, regardless of when or with how much passion, is STILL stooping to that level. And it doesn't make it any less wrong that you're "Not taking it seriously," when you're still posting it.

Now, to discuss the pros and cons of Bush's diplomacy with regards to assisting Al Qaeda's recruiting and what effect a Black President with a Muslim Grandfather would have on that and whether or not McCain would continue those policies...that is a fair topic. (and an interesting one, I might add)

Did you read the op-ed piece that was linked to? Because what you mention above is pretty much what Kristof does - just using the Al Qaeda endorsement as a lead-in.

LosAngelesSooner
10/27/2008, 03:34 PM
Don't be deliberately dense. There's a difference between "reporting something that really, really evil people who hate all of us said," and saying that McCain was endorsed by terrorists.

You hated it last election when the far right wing crazies did it to Kerry, it's just as despicable now.

Did you read the op-ed piece that was linked to? Because what you mention above is pretty much what Kristof does - just using the Al Qaeda endorsement as a lead-in.Yes, I did. Which is why I brought it up.

But, again, talking about the ISSUES is a far cry from saying, "McCain's Latest Endorsement is Al Qaeda" and then grinning and laughing about it.

Al Qaeda wants all of us to die. McCain and Obama equally.

Be an American first, not a partisan. And if you (rightfully) cry about the neo-cons saying Kerry was endorsed by terrorists then you can't turn around and be a hypocrite and do the exact same thing 4 years later when it benefits you.

I shouldn't have to spell this out to you guys.

And I'm not your pal, n00b.

Regardless, you know this is going to be reported no matter which candidate it is...But it's bad reporting. Stupid and sensationalized. Unfair and partisan. It's the worst of politics, like calling Obama a socialist or saying he "pals around with terrorists." It's crap.

What lesson did they learn? They've only grown stronger, so I don't think 2004 hurt them a whole lot.

What makes you think they weren't doing reverse psychology in the first place?

... or, maybe they just endorse whomever they think is going to lose so that they can claim that their endorsement threw the election.

I wouldn't try getting into their heads on this. Who knows what their motivations are for any given endorsement.
