View Full Version : Accentuation of the Positive

Some kind of positive things did happen today.

1. We were +10 points on special teams. I can't recall the last time we scored more on ST than the other team. We kicked off 10 times and only allowed one return past the 50. That's actually a decent improvement over the last few weeks.

2. +4 TO margin, and it should have been +5. That's a pretty salty number. Freeman doesn't throw many picks, and we got a couple on him.

3. Sam had a bad game and we still scored 51 points on offense. No other way to spin Sam's afternoon other than not up to his normal par. I don't particularly blame him-without the drops his Comp % jumps to about 60 and he has a couple more TDs.

We got lots of pressure on Freeman. I don't know the number, but we got a couple of sacks and forced a fumble on 1 of them. We would have had a couple more sacks if the guys wasn't as strong as a mule. No doubt that guy plays on Sundays.

The offensive line did a good job blocking on the corners. Though I still don't get the 4th and 8 pitch play when you have one of the best QBs in the nation...

Oh, yeah, forgot something:

We're bowl-eligible.

As a person who remembers having to listen to Husker fans chant "5-4-2 no bowl for you," this will always be a big deal for me.

14 of the points they scored today were the direct result of a brand new MLB that will, more than likely, get better as we go.

We could have given up 54 points to a 2-5 team at our house. We could also have Dave Wannstedt as our coach.

Yeah, but honestly... Did you really feel safe going into halftime?

Really?

Screw you Pitt! Why did you pick today to lose!? I guess that's what happens when Wanny is your coach.

I thought Demarco Murray showed great progress in coming out of his funk....he even hurdled!

How did that one pass go through Box's hands for the td?

He almost made another pick when jumping underneath for the ball.

You're right, he'll get better, and I like his aggressiveness in going to the ball.

Excellent point. DeMarco was hitting the hole hard and was showing some burst. He almost popped that KO return.
