Crossroads is a pit, but you could find some good deals at that Dillard's.

Maybe Dillards couldn't afford to keep replacing all the glass windows after the stray bullets kept shattering them?

That place has been going to hell for a while now. They do have a Steve & Barry's in there and they always have good deals. Their Lid's has some of the more unique hats that I can't find normally at other Lid's stores.

What the hell kind of straight man goes to the mall?

I remember eating at Piccadilly Cafeteria in the 70's and early 80's after Church on Sundays with my folks, and then strolling around the Mall afterward.

They used to have a store that had all the Lava lamps and blacklights, flashers, all kinds of crazy stuff. Haven't been there in years, don't know if it's still open.

Spencer's Gifts

That was a fun store as a teenager.

They are still around, although I don't know about Xroads.

It is time to drop a bomb on Crossroads and get it out of there. It would be better used as a grassland right now.

Heh. I worked at the Quail Springs Spencers for three years through high school and one year at UCO. Sold all manner of Spuds McKenzie dinnerware and NKOTB memorabilia. Quail wasn't allowed to sell "personal massge devices" in its adult novelty section, but Crossroads was. I occasionally got sent down there to fill in, and I always thought it was hilarious to ask people if they wanted batteries to go with their purchase. "No, it's a gag gift," they'd always say. "But I'll take some double As anyway."

I lived off 89th & Robinson when that mall was built. At the time, it was truly awesome. When I went back in 05, it was uh... failsome?

NP and I went to Crossroads Mall so I could visit the Steve and Barry's. It was about that time that the Macy's was getting the eff out of that mall.

That mall was fairly empty when we went there - within a year ago, not sure when - and it was very much a ghetto mall.
