I was thinking this morning about how nice it would be to have Lofton at the Texas game and then dreamed of what would have been.

What would have happend since Stoops has been at OU if none of the Jrs had left early, ie Roy Williams, etc, and played through there senior year?

OUr D would be so much better if we still had Lofton.

As for Roy Williams, I honestly think we would have been 02 National Champs because our only weakness was we couldn't defend the deep ball( see oSuX and aTm)

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride...or something like that. But, heck, I'll play the game. If AD had stayed last year, you think we could have run it out against TT and CU? Of course we could have. We would have played LSU in the Sugar Bowl again.

I wish that Ryan Reynolds wouldn't have gotten hurt. He was playing great and made everyone forget about Lofton until he got hurt.

Having Lofton would have been huge in the cotton bowl (heck, a healthy RR for the whole game would have been huge as well).

I think having MK could have changed things too. As much success as we have had throwing the ball, we haven't connected on many deep passes. Almost all the big plays have been run-after-catch. The deep threat opens up other plays, including the run.

You could say that for a lot of teams though.

But we would have been sick if Roy stayed for SR. year

I wish we didn't have to burn Q's redshirt.

I wish Calmus, Lehman, Marshall, Strait, Huepel, Clayton (and so many others) could just be allowed to take the field when they wanted... assuming we had the room to make for 'em.

that'll change next year with owens and miller. as you saw from chaney, tall recievers do alot better with deep passes. even maclin, the guy from florida, get their yards after the catch.

demond parker would have made a huge difference with that wide open offense.

I am surprised yall are missing the most useful one. What if Adrain Peterson stayed? We would have beat Colorado and Tech, regardless of who got hurt!!!

I find it humorous, because every team could have a similar list of what if's that would have effected games...I don' think much about it

yep, a lot of teams could say that .

Look at Miami:

What if Butch Davis had never left?
What if they don't screw the call in the NC game with Ohio St?

or Texas:

What if Vince Young came back?

OSU:

What if Les Miles didn't leave?
What if Josh Fields decided to stay and play football?

USC:

What if all those guys stayed til their senior years?

WHAT IF, after the NMC game players, who are no longer under the NCAA rules (I hope) could receive say $10,000 each for winning and maybe $5,000 if they lose.

Would this help keep them? It would not stack up very well to $1 million signing bonus.

What if the Red River suddenly became the Gulf of Mexico...

That would make that game in stoolwater even more important huh?

You forget that he got burnt against puke in 01 on a deep ball which cost us a shot at the natl title

I thought that was Straight on a fade in the endzone...the same one he deflected in Stillwater the year before to win the game for us....

That was the game-winner for aggy, but they torched Roy on a deep ball down the middle to set that play up.

We've also had some lucky breaks the other way though, like with Jason White and Dusty Dvoracek getting extra eligibility.. and hopefully Reynolds will also.

The yr before was Dstrait that deflected it, Roy gave up the fade but right before that pass he gave up the deep pass over the middle that was a jump ball

Even losing Tommie Harris and Teddy Lehman a year early hurt the defense a little in 2004.

Uh, no, I remember Curtis Lofton.

Actually, if memory serves, Roy treated that ball like a punt and camped under it. Bryant swooped in and caught it right in front of him.

Yes and Yes. You are doubly correct.
