I hereby pledge to avoid playoff threads as if they are tainted with the most virulent strain of heinous disease known to man. :D

Unless I see a chance to sneak in a really good point, then I might say just a small bit before I go back to avoiding playoff threads like the plague.

I also gave this thread one star...as I pledge to do all pro-playoff threads. :D

Sorry Collier, nothing personal. :D

why so players get hurt... then a team like ball state ends up winning the playoff because their players are all healthy... i would hate to see that day ... i know teams are deep but still... i think there will still be a lot of arguments

Wow, what a novel and irresistible idea! Now that you've posted it on the internet, I bet some college presidents and TV executives will see it and start the move toward a playoff sytem immediately. I predict that by the end of next season we will have a playoff system that everyone will agree is truly excellent.

I know....

Never work in college football. Current system is completely fair, logical and unbiased, players do not miss classes and are never injured before a big game.

If Ball State were to beat 3 straight top 10 teams in a row, they'd deserve the title. Unless you think name recognition should be a primary component in determining Championships.

A playoff system for college football? How come nobody's ever thought of this before?

I like the idea of voting on the best team in the nation.

Can someone come up with scenarios where a playoff would work???:D

We don't need more games... we need MOAR STIPULASHUNZ!!!!1!

1- Your non-conference opponent schedule MUST NOT SUCK. If you play cupcakes in your "preseason," a cupcake bowl opponent will be assigned to you in a postseason cupcake bowl.

2- Your conference season must conclude with a CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Only a SOLE CONFERENCE CHAMPION shall be considered for a national championship game.

Those are two things that would progress the current system greatly :)

That really only applies to the Big Ten. The Pac-10 certainly doesn't need it.

Some of you need to realize the difference between a serious thread and a sarcastic thread

I was being sarcastic in my first post and serious in my second post, so I covered both bases.
