View Full Version : Why don't all burger joints offer a fried egg as a topping?

I just tried the new Fatburger over in Bellvue, and they offer fried eggs as a topping. It really made the burger, as fried eggs do tend to make things better. I was disappointed that you couldn't get peanut butter on the burger though. It got me wondering why it isn't more widespread, or maybe it is in other regions, I don't know.

We've sung its praises here many times, but there used to be a greasy spoon in Norman called "Denco's". Their specialty was a plate of chili served over a bed of lettuce, drizzled with Green Goddess dressing they called the "Denco's Darlin'." You could order a Darlin' "looking at ya" that included two fried eggs sunny-side up on top.

Along with the occasional flatware flinging. Don't forget that.

I don't think we have any Denny's in Nebraska, though.

I guess I forgot about that one, I think it's just off I-80. Not really a part of town I ever end up in.

I had a slaw burger when I worked eastern North Carolina.

I still haven't figured out why that's popular. It tasted like ***.

FYI: The Poblano Grill by my house (NW OKC) has a "Darlin'" on the menu that, to my knowledge, looks like Denco's.

Red Robin has a burger that has both bacon and egg on it.

I'm kind of scared to try it.
