I was specifically watching the play clock against KU and there was usually less than 10 seconds left. I guess "fast" is open to interpretation.

I guess in Stoops defense we are snapping the ball fast, it is just taking forever to get set up for the snap.

Yes, Al asked Stoops if they would consider pulling a kicker out of redshirt as he has done in the past. Stoops said not at this point, but it definitely sounded like he was leaving the door open.

Brody has a bum ankle. Nobody seems to care to ask about him though, despite him being a key to our run game.

Dawg I thought the same thing until I looked at the numbers. We ran 97 offensive plays and possesed the ball 34:13. OUr average snap of the ball came with more than 20 seconds on the 40 ready clock, taking into consideration it takes 4 - 8 seconds to run a play, our average was much higher than 20 seconds at the snap. Most teams average about 68 offensive plays per game. Kansas had 72 plays in this game and they are considered to run an up tempo offense.

Some of the snaps would have been taken with the clock not running. Ever so slightly skewed numbers.

True, but the way the clock is ran now there are very few plays ran without it running, and they certainly would not have made up for the time while the actual play was being ran to move the average below 20 seconds on the ready clock. The big thing is that we ran damn near 50% more offensive plays than the average, that is unreal. These offensive boys are in some good physical condition.

not really....

he just said the same things ---- just a few big plays we need to stop, some missed tackles hurt, Box is learning - he did ok, some of the kick-offs placement hurt some, need to get off blocks quicker on kick-off coverage.

not really....

How about on the KSU big return, Franks getting pushed in the shoulder about as hard as a 3-year-old girl scout could push a man and then casually walking to the sideline as the returner went past him as if to say, "sorry guys, I got blocked on this one, you'll have to take it". Looked like he was playing a game of laser tag and stopped playing because his sensor went off.

Where is Russell Dennison when we need him?

wow...i've been reading and watching you guys comment on the state of OUR program and i share a lot of the same issues. (if you didn't notice from the tag, this is damian mackey...2000 NC and the glue to the receiver core before injury) it really hurts my feelings (and ima man...im 28...lol) to see the crimson and cream go on the field and get embarrassed week in and week out from a physical stand point. i hate to say it, but watch our games, then watch OSU, UT, even Tech or a UK, and you'll see guys flying around on defense trying to HIT someone...we "grapple" and ankle bite the opposition and hope they wanna quit becuase we can score. and from 1st hand experience, i can tell you that the other team can feel that, and everyone knows college football is all about momentum, and everytime they hit us and we fall a little backwards, they wanna hit us a little harder...and that's the way the KSU's and colorados and Tech's and yep...UT's can beat us now. OU USED to hit you in the mouth harder than you could hit them and by the 3rd quarter the other team would quit...i don't see that anymore. i see linemen tryn to be "sexy" instead of nasty. i see receivers who won't block down field (that's how you get the LONG running plays). i see coaches go out and recruit the best talent in the country and get too scared to line up on defense and say...'my players are better than yours, so we're gonna bump ur receivers and blitz your qb and allow our safeties to ball hawk the field...instead we employ a vanilla (ancient) zone blitz scheme that the "spread" was designed to destroy...DUH...

just my thoughts..
