I'm a Gideon speaker. As I was driving to my assigned church Sunday I was listeing to the sports animal, this topic did come up. So I decided to have some fun with it.:D

After being introduced I said my greetings and then got a very serious look on my face... "I think we are in the End Times. Let me tell you why. (the congregation leaned fwd earnestly) On my way here, I heard on the radio two men very seriously discussing... the possiblity of osu winning the National Championship!" (smiles & laughter, no kidding) "To a Sooner fan, that is definitely a sign of the Apocalypse!" More smiles, nods, chuckling...

I figured I better get the joke in before Texas destroys osu next Sat.

Even if he takes them a little bit farther this one year, he will never live this down:

Let's not laugh too hard. They are in a better position to win the title then we are at this time.

And I have no problem with it. OSU is an Oklahoma school. If not OU, then Tulsa. If not Tulsa, then OSU.

The only way it happens is for them to run the table, going through us in the process. Scary thought indeed, but they will choke before then.

They WOULD be in a better position... if they had already played and beaten us.

Given the nature of the Big 12, unless you've already beaten a team, you're in no better position than the next guy that has only one more loss than you.

As stated many times over, if OSU truly continues to control their own destiny, they will give us the ability to control ours by the two greatest words in the English language: DE-FAULT! DE-FAULT!

(pokes who do not get the Simpsons reference must turn leave the state immediately)

So, OSU continues "controlling their own destiny" by winning out until the Bedlam game. This means they beat Texas, who beat us. OMG! We both have one loss! OMG! We all know how the polls work - you lose late, you drop lots. Thus, OU will likely (with continued winning) move ahead of Texas in the polls either after an OSU loss or after OU beats OSU.

Thus, OSU, OU and UT will all have one loss, the team with the highest poll ranking goes to the Big 12, but Boone Pickens can still buy "Big 12 South Co-champions" rings for his team... after eminent domaining some more of Stilly.

Interesting NYTimes article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/21/sports/21boosters.html?_r=1&ref=sports&oref=slogin.
Shows how the financial stuff is hitting a lot of Big XII athletic budgets, not just T. Boone State.

If OSU wins out, they have a much better chance of playing for the national title then OU does if OU wins out.

Therefore, they control their own destiny to a greater extent than OU.

Well, if OSU finds a way to win in Austin Saturday I am sure a lot of OU fans will have a serious lump in their throat over the prospects. They get their shot, that's for sure.

The most important part is...

Will you have a lump your throat?

I won't.

I still think they'll choke...it might not be texas...but more than likely...it will be...

Let's not get all aggy just because the pukes beat Mizzou...The Ags close win over Missou doesn't seem all that impressive after the way UT thumped the Tigers.

I really want OSU to be unbeaten when we go to Stillwater. The joy of ripping their hearts out would just make the whole season.

It comes down to the UT game. If OSU wins, they will probably be ranked higher than OU and have a better chance of winning it all. And at that point I will be the first to admit that they have a better team.

Now THAT'S aggie.

Whatever happened to, "screw lOSUr, they're the stepchildren of Oklahoma football", us taking care of business, and giving two shakes of a ripped turd about what happens in Stoolwater?

11-1 or 1-11. Don't make me no mind 'cause the orange madness can bite my sack. My Crimson and Cream takes care of business and I'm good to go.

This attitude is EXACTLY why I hate osu fans so much. They base their season on what they do with OU and spew things like.

"well at least we stopped OU from winning the championship".

I don't hardly give osu a second thought and if OU fans start this kind of attitude then they become no better than the osu fans.

This sounds like Doc D, and Rick from Duncan on the radio.

Even if in your heart you think this please as a OU fan don't say it out loud it makes you look like a aggie.

Well, this will all be a moot point when Texas beats OSU like they beat everyone else... WHY is everyone talking about OSU, again?

:les: BECAUSE WE BEAT MIZZOU! [hairGel]

Oh, you mean the team we beat twice last year, both times when they were ranked No. 1?

:stunned:

:D
