So, if Oregon State wins out, they techincally win the Pac 10 championship. If this happens, does USuck still get praised by the media to play for a title, if they win out as well?

Actually, if there's a tie, the H-H matchup winner, if he's lower ranking, gets screwed!

I thought thats only in a 3-way tie..I thought in all conferences if its a 2 way tie the head to head winner gets the nod

Per the Pac 10 handbook...

c. Postseason Bowl Games.
Conference football teams shall be selected to participate in postseason bowl games in the following sequential order:
(1) The Conference champion (per SPR 5-1-a) shall represent the Conference in the Rose Bowl in those years in which the Conference champion is not rated No. 1 or No. 2 in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) final regular season rankings. (See Pac-10 AR 5-2 for selection procedures.) In addition, as presented in SPR 5-1-b, if every team does not play nine Conference games, the winning percentage in all Conference games played also shall be used to determine the subsequent positions in the standings of the other teams to determine bowl positions. (6/98, 6/06, 6/08)
(2) At its option, the BCS may select another team to participate in one of its games. (12/94, 6/08)
(3) The team finishing highest in the Conference standings that is still available after the Rose Bowl and BCS participants are identified shall compete in the Holiday Bowl. In the event of a tie in the standings among the remaining eligible teams, the Holiday Bowl may select the Conference participant from among the tied teams. (12/94, 12/95, 5/97, 9/98, 6/06)
(4) The team finishing highest in the Conference standings that is still available after the Rose Bowl, BCS, and Holiday Bowl participants are identified shall compete in the Sun Bowl. In the event of a tie in the standings among the remaining eligible teams, the Sun Bowl may select the Conference participant from among the tied teams. If the Conference's slated representative team in any season participated in the Sun Bowl at the conclusion of the preceding season, the Sun Bowl shall have the option of selecting the Conference's next highest placing bowl eligible team in the Conference standings. (12/94, 12/95, 5/97, 9/98, 6/08)
(5) The two teams finishing highest in the Conference standings that are still available after the Rose, BCS, Holiday, and Sun Bowl participants are identified shall compete in the Las Vegas and Emerald Bowls. In the event of a tie in the standings among remaining eligible teams, the Las Vegas and/or Emerald Bowls may select the Conference participant from among the tied teams. (5/92, 6/93, 6/94, 12/94, 12/95, 5/97, 6/98, 9/98, 6/99, 6/01, 6/02, 6/06)(6) The team finishing highest in the Conference standings that is still available after the Rose, BCS, Holiday, Sun, Las Vegas, and Emerald Bowl participants are identified shall compete in the Hawaii Bowl. In the event of a tie in the standings among remaining eligible teams, the Hawaii Bowl may select the Conference participant from among the tied teams. (6/04, 6/06, 6/08)
(7) The team finishing highest in the Conference standings that is still available after the Rose, BCS, Holiday, Sun, Las Vegas, Emerald, and Hawaii Bowl participants are identified shall compete in the Poinsettia Bowl. In the event of a tie in the standings among remaining eligible teams, the Poinsettia Bowl may select the Conference participant from among the tied teams. (6/08)
(8) In the case where two Conference bowl berths remain unfilled, Conference records shall be used in the Pac-10’s bowl selection process. As an example (Conference has seven contracted bowl berths): (10/07)
Conference Overall
Team A 5-4 6-6
Team B 4-5 7-5
Since both teams are bowl eligible, Team A shall be placed in the Conference’s sixth contracted bowl berth because it has the superior Conference record. Team B shall be placed in the Conference’s seventh contracted bowl berth. This selection procedure shall be applied in any similar circumstances. (10/07)
[Note: The following bowl arrangements were adopted for 2009: Sixth team to Poinsettia Bowl; Seventh team to Hawaii Bowl. (10/07)

You're thinking of the Trojans, but I give you 3 out of 10 for the Innuendo Bowl reference.

Sorry, badger, but you are wrong. It could work with USC, too, but gameCOCKS and Beavers could be a good time as well.

I have an Oregon State friend so I know this cause he is always saying he wishes they would schedule South Carolina.
