View Full Version : Our Sooners drop in the polls today

I expect them to be 5th or 6th when the AP comes out today.

This will happen mostly because our defense is un-impressive and the voters know it will come back to bite us against OK State and/or Texas Tech.

USC will move up to 4th because they are the best thing from the west coast and the media loves them.

Not sure that Florida passes the Sooners, But Texas Tech and OK State are breathing down our Sooners necks.

It's a shame we are completely helpless to do anything about that.

We deserve to drop this week. We have time to prove ourselves, but...for now...the defense is hardly a championship caliber.

Crazy team. Offense is unbelievable. Defense is swiss cheese at times and looks good at times, but it takes 60 minutes.

And if we ever have a game come down to a field goal of over 30 yards...toast.

keeping usc in the top 10 after losing to a horrible beaver team proves that most of the pollsters are retarded.

There were no major upsets this week so who knows, I get a headache trying to figure out why these guys vote the way they do.

Boo. No reportin' the facts until they are actually facts and not opinions, plzkthx.

For the record for everyone looking for the REAL poll reports, they come out at approximately 11:30-11:45 a.m. Oklahoma time. BE THE FIRST TO JUMP ON ESPN.COM OR USATODAY.COM so YOU TOO can start a thread talking about the polls!

Edit: The link you will want to jump on before anyone else is here (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm) for the Coaches and here (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex) for the AP poll. These sites traditionally have these polls up before any other. Be there at exactly the right minute to get the new thread up first!

Sand aggie didn't look all that impressive considering who they were playing. I think they should drop before Oklahoma.

USuCs stock will drop next week when tOSU gets wupped by JoePa.

Yep, USC is a media darling but their SOS the rest of the way will not be overlooked. It took a whippin' from yesterday's game against probably the worst team in a BcS conference and will continue to drop. There is not a ranked team left on their sked but they will continue to reap benefits from that lickin' they put on tOSU...another media darling.

Tulsa should move into both polls today, the Coaches and AP.

What the hell is wrong with us? We beat a top 25 team yesterday, and they have a qb who has only lost 3 games in his career; but we steadily complain that we are not a top 5 team. texas the number 1 team in the nation barely beat us last week, and they thought that we are great team. I am beginning to wonder about the football knowlegde on this board as of late. Stats are for losers, and the only thing that matters is a w. If we win the rest of our games 60-30 i'll be content; but I have a sneaky suspicion that the defense will be better at the end of the season than it has been the last 3 weeks.

Badger, There was nothing up last week; I checked Search to make sure; and was tied with somebody for first up; Then everybody responded with their comments to a later post. I learned I don't need the ego.

This has certainly been the case the past two years. ;)

I wasn't making fun of you or anyone else from previous weeks - I was poking fun at the fact that this thread was started hours before the polls were to be officially released and contained no factual basis to the title assertion "our sooners drop in the polls today"

As we can now tell, that statement is FALSE - we rose in one poll and while the other is not out yet to my knowledge, we can assume that as there are TWO major polls, we will not "drop in the polls," thus, FALSE.

I have started a few poll threads in the past, it seems like there are about 20 poll threads going within minutes of the polls released, so I was bemused that this fellow would try to start a poll thread before everyone else with a FALSE (read reasons above) title.

But, meh, one star and move on :D

Oh, and now that the AP Poll reveals that we are No. 4 (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex), we can say with absolute certainty that we are not experience this "drop in the polls today," unless you're referring to the polls run solely by Texas and Oklahoma State fans.

So, anyways, in conclusion:

By that reasoning, Texas should drop as well because they gave up 31 points too.

7 and 8 look yummy....

The higher they go...the more yummy they will be...

Both will be some flavorful horse meat.
