Stoops said he will most likely play next week.Isn't that pretty-much the standard reply from Bob?
I just saw a replay of Manny's injury and I don't know HitH he didn't break his arm or completely dislocate his elbow with torn ligaments.

I agree! It looked ugly.

Trust me he didn't break his arm.

Stoop's got his information from the medical staff and I believe him.

It looked really nasty. I thought he broke his arm. But obviously it's not a break or they would've put more than tape on his arm, correct? I'm thinking a dislocation, the way it looked like his elbow kinda popped out of place

If BS has to remove his arm with a chainsaw, He'll be working with the lad to catch the ball with his other hand.
and, he'll play next week.

Stoops said he will most likely play next week.

That sounds like standard Stoop's-speak on injuries. He said DM would miss a couple of weeks right after the TT game last year.

Chaney is a GREAT replacement if he somehow can't go next week.

If its a dislocation, then it won't be "that" bad as long as nothing is torn. However, I heard it was a hyperextended elbow. If that is in fact the case, no big deal. I had the same things happen to me in a playoff game in high school. I played the next week and it didn't really hurt by then. Either way, hope to see him well enough to be on the field next week. We are good either way with Bradford.

Man - when I saw that replay, I thought it was a career ender: that was horrific. Godspeed, Mr. Johnson!

Harris County Sooner
10/19/2008, 10:22 AM
Sooner coach Bob Stoops said it's “probably likely” that Johnson could play next Saturday at Kansas State, but others in the OU camp said Johnson's injury appeared to be a dislocated elbow and he might be out longer.

Stoops is probably likely correct.

If he plays next week the man is made of the same stuff as Gumby, it looked horrible on the replay.

Simply by the looks of the injury, I would put some money on him not playing next week.

Just because he can play next week, it doesn't mean he should or will. I am glad the injury is not serious but I would rather have him sit out a week to be 100% for the rest of the year. If we need him to beat KSU we have problems.

Carey Murdock from rivals who talks to stoops said that he told him

They are terming it a sprained elbow, not a dislocation. They think he could return next week so we'll see how he progresses.

yay

I doubt he plays more than a couple plays next week.

That looked nasty.

If it really was just a dislocation and no breaks, yeah he would be fine. But looked worse.
