Flew into Seattle and then to Yakima, then an all day drive to hell on earth called Warm Springs Oregon..No innerweb...no Cell phone service...nothing but a casino resort in the middle of nowhere....

This was my first time on a reservation and I was happy to get outta there...probably one of the most depressing places I have ever been..People are poor, sick and have no ambition at all...Its hard to tell somebody to take care of their health when most of them think they are better off dead...

Now I m back in Yakima waiting to give a presentation tomorrow then back to Oklahoma Saturday.....Thank God for the great state of Oklahoma

We have a town here in AZ, on the White River Apache res, called White River, appropriately, and it's like going to any rural punk town in Mexico. I drove through there a few yrs ago, and depressing is the word. You feel like being in a hostile foreign country.

drove through the dalles going between warm springs and yakima..drive was so long I didnt wannna stop anywhere...there was like a 45 mile detour I had to take because a bridge was out...Bend is like 60 miles south of where I had to go....

I used to take the trip from Olympia to Mt. Hood and then Mt. Bachelor. The highway from The Dalles to Bend is pretty lonely.

yes it is....I've driven 400 miles in this area and haven't seen one patrol

It can't be too much different than the Stringtown Kiowa roads.

well on the stringtown kiowa route the road is straight and you can pass more easily
