The lectures aren't worth paying attention to. I'm thinking maybe next week I'll watch a movie muted on my laptop during class. I'm leaning toward "Iron Man".

You could liven things up by pretending to be that annoying person who asks all those stupid questions over and over. That would be super funny.

proud gonzo

we already have one of those...

Is your novel long enough to knock her out if you hit her over the head with it?

proud gonzo

I'm thinking of pulling a Natalie Portman and hitting her with a chair. "No more questions!"

Anyone in your class have a pretty new Mac?

proud gonzo
10/15/2008, 06:52 PM
nope, doesn't look like it.

Damn, screwing with them is fun. If you can get your hands on an Apple remote, they work with any Mac. I used to blare music from some guys Mac every now and then. Dude was convinced he had a virus! :D :D

proud gonzo
10/15/2008, 07:13 PM
that's awesome

that's awesome

The funny thing was it was always on Carrie Underwood or something like that. After a while he started plugging in headphones and just letting them dangle. (he had tried muting his computer but you can control the volume with the remote.) After that I just kept bringing up front row to interrupt his note taking.

That's what he gets for having a Mac that's newer than mine

:D :D :D

It irritates me when professors talk about writers that i love, but absolutely butcher the information. Or when they take a very interesting subject and make it horribly boring.

Heh, I had a class, Literary and Cinematic Explorations of Power. He was pretty good at presenting information in a way that kept you interested.

Also didn't hurt that the only people in the class wanted to be in that class.

yeah, i wish this professor was like that.

I finished my novel last semester. This is another screenplay class. And sometimes it seems like i'm teaching the class... i've been tutoring a couple of the other students and working on their scripts with them.

If you're going to watch a muted movie, I recommend Mel Brook's "Silent Movie"

ask the prof why we all can't share each other's work and ignore these pesky intellectual property laws since there are only about ten different plot formulas employed in modern movies anyway. I dare ya.

Oooo, that sounds even more fun. I took Business and Ethics once. We talked about Pareto improvements. I mostly went there and slept and made a C in it and didn't learn a thing.

Today we're talking about ensemble movies. So far all we've done is try to list movies that are actually ensemble films...and most films they've listed are NOT ensemble films. So...another pointless class period.

And this place is not helping entertain me this evening. I am not digging all the political threads.

Our Act II is due today... and six of twelve students are not here. Which sucks for them, because they obviously have not met the deadline. But also sucks for us, because there are fewer people for the professor to yammer at. oh noes...

Hey, don't feel too bad, for my literary and cinematic explorations of power class we had to read the Klansman and watch Birth of a Nation.

proud gonzo
11/12/2008, 07:43 PM
BLAH, i've had to watch exceprts of Birth of a Nation several times in class.

sadly, that'd probably be more interesting than the lecture right now.
