"WE HAVE TO GET TURNOVERS" - NIC. HARRIS

"WE CAN'T LET KANSAS NICKLE AND DIME US, LIKE TEXAS DID" - NIC. HARRIS

Maybe he should be the Defensive Coordinator

Maybe now it will come out about our D's LACK OF CREATING TURNOVERS! What happened to the days of 2-4 turnovers a game? Oh yea, they left with Mike.

I noticed in the Texas game several times where we made a concerted effort to strip the ball, especially in the second half. Unfortunately, many times when this happens it impacts the tackling technique and results in another 3-5 yards gained by the carrier, particularly when the tackle/strip is being made solo.

I don't have numbers in front of me, but it seems we're not intercepting much either this season. Perhaps we're not feinting/cloaking our coverages enough to fool the QB.

The stand the guy up and wait for 2 guys to come help strip the ball does not work. I know exactly what your talking about.

we don't do that. we wait until the tackle is made and try to strip the ball as the ballcarrier is headed towards the ground.

I guess I've seen differently. How many interceptions do we have this year? 4?

This is because we play 10-15 yards off the receivers.

Yes. Holmes, Jackson, Lewis, and Franks all have 1.

I didn't hear Nic's comments but one wonders when/if our defensive players are going to become frustrated with our defensive scheme.

I know where I a big-time cornerback recruit, say Gabe Lynn for instance, I would not come to OU because of the scheme we play.

...and I'd love to play for OU, but it's not a good scheme for a lock-down CB to play in.

YEah, I remember when our CBs would be straight up on the line of scrimmage with the receivers. Our guys now are easily fast enough to keep up.

Thanks for that...

...but what makes him so sure that we're gonna take away opponent's ability to nickel-and-dime us, he does know who our DC is right? :D
