Even with Mike Stoops. But has it has gotten worse after 2005? Out of 23 losses how many were due mainly to defensive lapses? Maybe 13? Maybe more. But is it increasingly becoming the reason? But we really don't have that many losses, do we, it's just that when we lose, more folks notice. College football is becoming more like the NFL as seasons lengthen.

1999: ND comes back, UT comes back, Tech comes back. CU stomps us. Ole Miss gets us down early and wins on a FG. Five losses, five defensive lapses.
2000: Defense wins some games, holding OSU and FSU to 8 points combined when the QBs arm is ragged.
2001: Defense pretty good. Offense doesn't score much in NU and OSU and Arkansas games. Offense loses the two games.
2002: OSU and A&M games lost due to defense. 26 and 28 points should beat the Aggie sisters.
2003: Nothing good about KSU game on any side of the ball. Offense and White's nagging KSU injury lost us the game against LSU.
2004: USC. Melt down. We should have lost, but not by five TDs.
2005: 41 points given up to UCLA. 45 points to UT sets a Texas record against us (tied today in Dallas).
2006: 34 given up to UO Ducks and 43 to BSU, who should not have been close enough to us on the scoreboard to mount a "game for the ages" comeback. UT scores 21 in the second half.
2007: 27 given up to crappy CU team, though we played probably our worst half of the season on offense the second half of the game. 48 points given up to WVU.
2008: 25 second half points given up to UT.

I'm going to sleep now. The game has been over for 12 hours.

4-12-2 in losses since the 2000 season. Mike Stoops was 2-2 in losses since 2000. For further explanation, see:
