View Full Version : How Far Do We Fall In The Rankings????

1. So, how far do you think we fall in the rankings?

2. If Texas is a legit top 5 team in the nation (and they just proved that they are), you have to remember that we had a legit top 5 team down 14-3 at one point. I may be jumping the gun a bit, but I still say we're not out of the NC hunt if we can win out from here on. All we have to do is work our way back up again. We don't necessarily have to be #1. #2 will suffice.

Thoughts?

Well if Florida is in the NC hunt after losing to Ole Miss then we should still be in it too.

Who knows though with all the SEC love.

If Texas loses 2 games and we win out, we are in that National Title game.

Idk they still have to play Missouri and on the road against Tech, and the ok state game is always close.

2006 season we lost to Texas and still won the big 12.

Win out and see what happens. If not the MNC, we'll be in a BCS bowl that is not the Fiesta for a change.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. After all, 99% of us didn't think we'd lose this game today.

That is entirely possible. They don't necessarily have an easy schedule the rest of the way. They've got Mizzou next week. OSU the week after, and Tech the week after that. Anything's possible.

7th, more than likely.

Their next 3 games:

vs Mizzou
vs okie state
@ Tceh

If they win all three of those after beating us, they deserve to be #1.

Agreed. Hopefully they'll lose a couple. It pisses me off that we need help now, but it is what it is.

We fall below

2. Alabama
3. Missouri/Oklahoma State winner
4. LSU/Florida winner
5. Texas
6. Penn State if they win

I don't know about #7 Texas Tech jumping us but you know #8 USC will so that puts us at #9.

Baylor may beat more people than we think with that Griffin kid. He could get loose and beat any team by himself if he keeps improving.

I think we'll be somewhere in the #5 - 10 range on Monday. I also think if Tulsa doesn't crack the Top 25 now, being 6-0 for the first time since 1942, it just ain't fair.

I think maybe #5. Here's how it may look.

1. Alabama
2. Texas
3. Penn State
4. USC
5. Oklahoma
6. Texas Tech
7 BYU
8. Georgia
9. Missouri
10. Ohio State

But who knows?

Wups....I forgot about Florida. How could I do that.

They might jump to say, #6 & push the others down a notch, leaving Ohio State out of top 10. Deservedly so.

I think 5th. Would have said 6th or 7th had Mizzou not lost at home or Lester's bunch gotten the beat down they received.

My advice is to just enjoy the rest of the season and whatever happens, happens. I think it was JCS who said it best in that #8 will come when we least expect it.

Kind of like #7.

We will be somewhere between 4 - 7. If we win out we will play in a BCS bowl. Texass will not lose two games the rest of the year unless they lose their QB.

I hope that doesn't mean we are gonna suck for 10 years and then win a title.

Oklahoma State belongs high in the top 10. Not saying they will stay there unless something shocking happens, like they keep winning. How can voters ignore a 6-0 record including beating their darlings Mizzou and King Chase on their field?

Turned my sour stomach back to even ground watching OSU playing hard against Mizzou and forcing THREE interceptions from that cocky Chase... I see the Pokes getting into the top 10 and well-deserved. The public will keep us above the Pokes in the polls but I'd give them a higher ranking for what they did to Mizzou in their own stadium. It won't matter for the time-being... we'll climb back up.

The BIG question is... who's going to take over middle LB or are we moving to a 4-2-5/5-2-4 defense?

Here's my rankings:

1. Texas (tough schedule upon you)
2. Alabama (Tulane? Kentucky?)
3. Penn State (weak conference)
4. Texas Tech (close one to Neb... still no defense)
5. OK State (Big jump... but beating #4)
6. BYU (on the verge of slipping)
7. Florida (Good job on LSU... don't cry Miles)
8. OU (Moving back up in the next few weeks)
9. Georgia (weak offensive line... shaky at times)
10. USC (behind OU for losing to unranked Oregon State)

I think we drop to 8. I think OSU should be in the top ten but I don't think the pollsters will do it. It will be interesting to see the poll when it comes out. But, it could also look like this.
