Just last week I was listening to NPR and they had a story about Palestinian refugees (http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1220802281311&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull) that had resettled in Iceland. The Icelandic government was putting them up in apartments and giving them living essentials for a year - with the expectation that they'd learn the language and get a job in that time or face deportation. I wonder what's going to happen to them now.

The article I read about it mentioned it was a colder than normal day there. Holy crap, how cold does it have to be to be "colder than normal" in friggin Iceland?

The Icelandic monetary fund can't be doing any worse than the investments I have. Maybe they can host another world chess championship and bring in some chess tourists, ala Bobby "They planted microchips in my ear" Fischer vs. Boris Spassky, circa 1972.

They should sell more ice. Perhaps they should look for customers other than Eskimos, though.

Iceland is actually very nice. The Vikings mis-named Iceland and Greenland so all the poser-barbarians would go invade Greenland intstead and realize it sucks there. ;)
